The dish you must eat when you come to Mojiko is "Yaki Curry". Yaki Curry is a bit like adding cheese and eggs and then baking it. There are many restaurants selling Yaki Curry near Mojiko. We found This "Princess Phi Phi" is only a 3-minute walk from Mojiko Station
I arrived at 3:30 pm on a Sunday. I thought there shouldn’t be a queue during this non-dinner time, but I didn’t expect to wait in line for about 30 minutes.
The clerk was very warm and friendly. When we entered the door, he first asked us which country we were from. When he heard that we were from Taiwan, he immediately handed us a Chinese menu. We need to use a tablet to order. The clerk also carefully informed us that the tablet was only in Japanese. If we If you don’t understand, he can come directly and help us order food.
The wait time for food is a bit long. It took about 30 minutes after we ordered the food before the food came. If you are in a hurry or are very hungry, you may want to consider this.
We ordered Mentaiko Curry, Nanban Chicken Curry, and Fugu Fries, a total of ¥3070
Let’s talk about the conclusion first: Mentaiko curry is more delicious, but you can order the other two items or not.
Mentaiko Curry
It feels like grilling it with cheese and eggs first, and then pouring mentaiko sauce on top. The content is simple rice (half white rice, half grain rice), and some mushrooms. Because of the mentaiko, it is a little spicy, but It’s really just a little spicy; my impression of this dish is that it’s delicious without too many fancy tricks.
Nanban Chicken Curry
Hmm... The advantage is that it has more vegetables than the mentaiko curry. Their Nanban chicken is more like fried chicken cutlet and egg salad. I personally think the noodles are a bit thick, ordinary and not very delicious.
Fried puffer fish
It's actually fish and chips, but the fish part is replaced with puffer fish, and it's served with Thai sweet and spicy sauce. Because the fish has bones in it, I don't like it very much. The fries are relatively thick, and I personally think they're just average.
Overall, the price is ok and the taste is ok. If you don’t have to queue up, you can come and try it. Remember to order the signature mentaiko flavor~
