The quality of the coffee is quite good, especially the latte, which has a rich and impressive layer of flavor.
The restaurant has a leisurely atmosphere, and the old house style is surprising. The space is well allocated, making people feel relaxed.
Xiao Coffee is a famous café in Tainan, and I was surprised to find that there is a branch in Chiayi, which also has an old house style.
Perhaps it was because it was a weekday; during this visit, I was the only customer. Although I came as a digital nomad, the leisurely atmosphere still allowed me to relax. Each seating area is quite spacious, so even if it gets full, you can have your own space.
My usual order at a café is a latte, and the latte here indeed performs well. Although there's a 10-dollar extra charge for iced coffee, the flavor of the blended beans has great complexity. Additionally, some seats have power outlets, and there's no time restriction when it's not busy, making it quite worth it.
If you happen to visit the Xiao Coffee Chiayi branch, I also recommend taking some nice photos inside. From the old-house-style tiled floor and stairs to the tables and chairs, everything is really beautiful and worth capturing some memorable images.
