The flavors of snowflake ice are diverse. The peanut snowflake ice has a savory and delightful taste, complemented by the sweetness and texture of uniform pudding and red beans. The milk snowflake ice is rich in milky flavor, paired with passion fruit sauce for a sweet and tangy contrast, while the pudding is chewy and springy.
The interior decor is thoughtfully designed, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the evening lights along with the large projection screen add a special ambiance.
When ordering, there is no proactive notification of item shortages, which affects the ordering experience. It is recommended to improve menu labeling to enhance intuitiveness.
🔹Milk Shaved Ice + Passion Fruit Sauce + Tofu Pudding $110
The shaved ice is very fine and creamy, with a strong milk flavor complemented by the sweet and sour passion fruit sauce. The tofu pudding pairs quite well with it, and the milk flavor is strong enough that I would want to add tapioca next time!
🔸Peanut Shaved Ice + Pudding + Red Beans $110
The peanut flavor is very strong. As someone who doesn't particularly like peanuts, I found it a bit daunting. The pudding and red beans are quite sweet, and the red beans are not overcooked.
🧸 At first, I didn't understand the menu. If you don't want the recommended combinations, you can order the shaved ice + toppings separately, but there’s no price listed for ordering the shaved ice separately.
Child Number One (Milk Shaved Ice + Corn Flakes + Pudding + Oreo) $130
From the menu, I see that the last three toppings cost $60, so the milk shaved ice is $130 - $60 = $70. This should be how the price for ordering shaved ice separately is calculated since the milk ice was indeed charged $70 that day. However, it would be better if the price for ordering shaved ice separately was clearly stated for clarity.
🧸 Before ordering, they don't proactively inform you about which toppings are unavailable; they only tell you when you place your order. They also don’t have alternatives available when something is out of stock. A lot of items were unavailable that day, which really affected the mood. Personally, I don’t eat much, but since everyone else finished ordering, we had no choice but to settle for jam + tofu pudding.
🔅 Closed every Tuesday and Friday.
🍧 Little Water Buffalo Shaved Ice | Locally recommended rich ice shop
📍 No. 385, Minzu Road, Yilan City, Yilan County 260008
🕐 13:00–20:00 (Closed on Tuesdays and Fridays)
🌞 The longstanding ice shop "Little Water Buffalo," recommended by friends from Yilan, specializes in shaved ice. As soon as you step inside, you'll notice the thoughtfully designed decor: the shop is well-lit with soft lighting like in a photo studio, creating a great atmosphere at night. There's even a large projection screen on the wall playing videos, making you feel a bit like you've stumbled into an exhibition venue 😂
🥜 I ordered the peanut shaved ice, topped with Unity pudding and red beans. The peanut flavor is rich and salty, while the pudding and red beans add sweetness and texture, making the whole bowl very layered. The other bowl was milk shaved ice with grass jelly and passionfruit jam; the milk flavor is strong but not greasy, and the tart and sweet jam balances it out perfectly, with the grass jelly providing a nice chewy texture!
🧊 Although there are electric fans on site, there’s no air conditioning, so once the ice is served, it starts to melt quickly with just a breeze 🥲 However, I still recommend dining in; the texture is best when eaten fresh on site, and you can enjoy the shop's unique atmosphere. That day, I saw many customers taking their orders to go, but it really is much better to sit down and savor the ice slowly.
