The bagels have a variety of flavors and distinct layers, with the scallion bagel and cheese potato bagel being particularly popular. Although the mushroom soup is a large portion, it has a rather strong flavor.
The interior decoration is in British style, perfect for taking photos, but the waiting time is quite long, so it's recommended to reserve a spot online.
The service staff has a friendly attitude, provides tea while waiting for a table, and is highly efficient.
Seoul Solo Food Trip - 🥯 The Bagel Shop "London Bagel" That Everyone Raves About
After visiting Changdeokgung Palace, I walked to the popular "London Bagel" by myself. It really is highly recommended by netizens! 😎 I suggest everyone be smart and reserve a spot online first! I arrived at the venue at 2 PM on a Tuesday and scanned the code to queue, but ended up waiting about an hour and a half to get in. The popularity on a weekday afternoon is just astonishing!
🥯 Scallion Bagel $8,500
This famous scallion bagel truly lives up to its reputation! The portion is huge, the outer layer is slightly crispy but not too hard, and the bagel itself is very soft and a bit moist. Eating it doesn't require water, and it feels light, super great! The cheese filling is perfectly balanced, rich in sweet and salty flavors without being overwhelming, and there's a slight scallion aroma. When you bite into a whole scallion piece, the burst of scallion flavor is addictive! Friends who love scallions must try this; it's highly recommended! 💕
🥯 Cheese Potato Bagel (No Photo)
I bought an extra cheese potato bagel to take away for breakfast the next day, but I forgot to eat it and ended up leaving it until the third morning, and it got a bit squished... but it was still delicious! As expected from a bagel specialty shop, the potato filling is creamy. Unlike the scallion bagel, this one is a bit sweeter, but not overly so. The cheese on top doesn't overpower, and it pairs well with the potato, combined with the already excellent bagel; I regret not bringing more QQ.
🍄 Mushroom Soup $12,800
So many people online said you must order the mushroom soup, and as a mushroom soup enthusiast, I couldn't miss it! Although the price is a bit high, I was really excited when I received it. The strong mushroom aroma mixed with the truffle scent was irresistible, and it came with a crispy, thin cheese bread on the side, a perfect visual! The first bite was packed with mushroom flavor, but the truffle taste wasn't as strong; you really have to savor it to catch it. The portion is quite large; after eating about 1/5 of it, I felt a bit full and had to rely on the cheese bread to help me finish, ultimately leaving half a bowl uneaten... maybe it's just my peasant palate, but I still prefer Costco's canned mushroom soup over this, haha, quite a high expectation versus reality!
💡 Small Details
The decor in the shop has a British style, perfect for taking photos. The staff is friendly, and they provide tea while waiting for a table. The only small downside is the long wait; I recommend going earlier or queuing online on weekday afternoons!
This store... I personally think it is one of the most popular stores among tourists in Seoul. There is even a travel agency selling Fast Passes. I thought it was Universal Studios?
I went to the Anguk store at 14:20 in the afternoon on holidays to pick up the number plate. There are more than 600 numbers. You can leave the site and watch the progress online after entering your mobile phone number. There are many beautiful cafes nearby and Gyeongbokgung Palace to walk around.
We actually entered the store at 16:30 and it closed at 18:00. The green onion & cream cheese flavors were already sold out! The four of us ordered three flavors for internal use together, and each took a lot of pills for takeout😋
In-house flavors: truffle pepper honey (sandwich), ham cream (sandwich), cheese potato
The sandwich version costs about NT$200! But it’s really delicious. The bagel is very chewy, which is what I like, and it’s full of sesame flavor. The combination of flavors is very layered. The ham cream is like a large piece of cream like ice-fire pineapple oil. 🧈
The cheese on the cheese potato is not very melted on top, and the mashed potato is wrapped in the middle of the bagel. You can taste the salty aroma of the original dough when you eat it. I love it!
The figs I brought back to Taiwan are currently frozen in the refrigerator. The roasted figs taste super delicious ~ the skin is roasted until crispy, and the inner layer is still soft and moist, but the price is really not cheap (the average price is more than NT$100)
Whether the waiting time is worth it depends on the person😆
