Jinghua Restaurant next to the Forbidden City. I have eaten at the wedding banquet upstairs before and thought some of the meals were very exquisite and unique. This is my second visit to try out the restaurant's items.
The restaurant is quaint and has a lot of history, but the environment is clean and doesn't feel old. There are also some antiques and paintings for decoration.
I ordered a Champion Beef Noodle. The braised flavor was full of flavor. Although the meat did not melt in your mouth, it was quite comfortable and delicious. The noodles were homemade noodles with moderate hardness and not soggy. The shape of the bowl was very special. , a bit like the porcelain bowl of an incense burner, very heat-preserving.
The fried rice with mullet roe has just the right salty flavor, and the fried rice has distinct grains, but it doesn't have the special characteristics of the Forbidden City. Xiaodiangang ordered the glutinous rice chicken and shrimp bean curd rolls, which were delicious. Personally, I don't think they taste the same as the dim sum you get in Hong Kong. Up and down.
The most recommended one is the Dongpo Pork. It has a melt-in-your-mouth texture and is great. People who don’t dare to eat fatty meat may not want it because fat meat accounts for about 80% of the whole piece. The oil next to it makes people want to lose weight. people stay away.
For dessert, I ordered grass jelly and lady's picture buns. The grass jelly tastes more like grass tea, and the creamer is not sweet. The lady's picture bun is super cute and can be used to take a lot of photos!
Overall, there are still a lot of things that I want to eat that are very characteristic of the Forbidden City, but the two of us were so full after ordering these, we look forward to ordering other unique meals next time.
