The signature salty egg rice ball and potato cheese omelet from Dagang Rice Balls are deeply loved by customers. The glutinous rice of the rice ball is chewy, and the filling is rich. The omelet's batter skin paired with homemade sweet soy sauce paste brings back memories.
The store is always crowded with people, creating a lively atmosphere that makes one feel the charm of Kaohsiung street food.
Although there is a need to line up, the store operates efficiently, with multiple lines open at the stall simultaneously making sushi rolls, which makes people willing to wait.

🍽️ Hi~ I'm TJMM🍙
🔖 Today I'm munching on: Dagang Rice Balls🍙
This place is, in my opinion, the best rice ball shop in Kaohsiung! It originally opened near Kaohsiung Medical University, but after splitting from its original location, it moved to Zhengxing Road. Although the venue has changed, its popularity remains sky-high. Every time I go there, it's packed with people. Even though the stall has already opened 3 to 4 lines to make rice balls, they still often can't keep up with the orders for both on-site and delivery. But even if I have to wait in line, I'm willing to do so (laughs).
⭐️ Signature Salted Egg Rice Ball | 💰50
I used to pay 35 NT dollars for one, and now it's 50 NT dollars, but I still think it’s worth it. Salted egg yolk, pork floss, pickled vegetables, meat sauce, and fried dough sticks, combined with the chewy and plump glutinous rice, each bite is layered with rich flavors. The portion is substantial, and finishing one can keep you full until noon!
⭐️ Potato Cake Cheese Egg Pancake | 💰50
Likewise, it has gone from 35 NT dollars to now, and it's still not greasy (though the portion might have shrunk a bit (?)
The pancake batter wraps around the potato cake and cheese, plus the shop's homemade sweet soy sauce, this is the "Dagang flavor" I remember.

Although there's always a line, every time I return to Kaohsiung, I can't help but want to wait in line for this once again~

🛋️ Willingness to revisit: 💯
It’s a feeling of missing a friend, but after all, many years have passed, and we’re not sure whether it’s lost its flavor. So we came here with a trepidating mood.
I ordered the signature salted egg and spicy and sour salted egg. When I saw the egg pancake, I asked the store and found out that it was a traditional flour paste, so I took an extra one to go. I really like the rice ball taste, and the rice is also very elastic. Overall, the filling is The proportion of ingredients is just right, enough to make me willing to come back again.
The original omelette sauce is very similar to the oyster omelette sauce, sweet and slightly thick. It is not easy to eat omelette in Taipei, but this omelette is indeed not particularly amazing, it can be regarded as ordinary.
For drinks, I ordered fresh milk tea, which was nothing memorable. I think it was just average.
I will come back next time for the rice balls, they are delicious.
