A niche and mysterious Japanese Showa-style café and restaurant 🍽️☕️
Mochi is one of my favorite cafés. Although the location is remote, it’s always full, and you may even need to wait for a table.
The owner seems to have a rebellious style 🤣. Previously, this café was not willing to appear on Google Maps, relying on word-of-mouth from those who knew about it.
They serve my favorite Sicilian coffee in Taipei 🍋. Their curry rice and creamy soup options are also quite good.
This time I just stopped by for takeout bread 🥖.
You can pre-order the bread on Facebook, but if you arrive later, it might be sold out.
🧂 Sea Salt Roll ($50):
I would describe Mochi’s bread as very substantial 🫶🏻.
It has a heavier flour flavor, but with it comes a rich aroma, and it has a dense texture.
The sea salt topping is also done very well; I always look forward to the salty flavor at the center of the sea salt bread ☺️.
🍄
Will I return? Yes!
I will definitely come back to enjoy a nice meal 🍴
and savor an afternoon tea time in a Japanese Showa-style decor.
