The most popular restaurant for Beijing roast duck and fried chicken these days is Siji Minfu! No matter which branch you go to, there is always a long queue. It is best not to go during meal time, otherwise the queue will be endless.
But if you are unfortunate enough to eat at that time, don’t worry. They provide a variety of free drinks and snacks in the store to pass the time while waiting in line, which is very considerate. In Taiwan, I only know that Haidilao has such good service. It seems that large chain restaurants in the mainland adopt this business model. This is the first time I have seen it.
This time, because the flight arrived at noon, it was already 3pm when we arrived for dinner in the city. We were lucky enough to be seated after only waiting in line for about half an hour.
There were a lot of colleagues, so they ordered a lot of dishes and explained them directly in the photos.
The Peking duck that everyone cares about most,
The portion of one roast duck for 7 people is not bad, one person can eat at least 3-4 pieces of duck meat. After the roasted duck slices come out, you can choose to make salt-and-pepper duck rack or boil duck rack soup (a duck rack processing fee is required) for the remaining duck rack. We chose duck rack soup.
The waiter will first bring you a plate of condiments, one of which is sugar for dipping the duck skin.
Dipping duck skin in sugar is a new way to eat it. It's very novel and unexpectedly not out of line. The rest of the ingredients are for you to wrap into the duck burrito. It is very different from the way it is eaten in Taiwan. One of the ingredients is cucumber. It is very refreshing and delicious when wrapped in a roll with duck meat.
But the duck meat was too thin and small. I felt like I was eating pocket food. Everything was so delicate, thin and small. It was delicious, but not satisfying.

The environment is spacious and bright, with many seats, but the cleanliness needs to be improved. Maybe the table turnover rate was too fast and the staff didn't have time to clean it. I felt that the floor was not very clean. I saw garbage and fruit seeds.
In terms of service, I encountered the wrong dish twice. In the middle, I asked some questions about the meal, but the waiter couldn't answer them very well. I felt that the education and training were uneven.
In summary, I feel that Yilan’s roast duck is actually not inferior to Siji Minfu😆
If you can’t come to the mainland, you can also go to Yilan to taste it!
If I have another chance in the future, I will want to try another Beijing roast duck restaurant. It is still a good idea to try it for the first time.
