Speaking of Beijing food,
The first thing everyone thinks of is Peking duck!

The most popular restaurant for Beijing roast duck and fried chicken these days is Siji Minfu! No matter which branch you go to, there is always a long queue. It is best not to go during meal time, otherwise the queue will be endless.
But if you are unfortunate enough to eat at that time, don’t worry. They provide a variety of free drinks and snacks in the store to pass the time while waiting in line, which is very considerate. In Taiwan, I only know that Haidilao has such good service. It seems that large chain restaurants in the mainland adopt this business model. This is the first time I have seen it.

This time, because the flight arrived at noon, it was already 3pm when we arrived for dinner in the city. We were lucky enough to be seated after only waiting in line for about half an hour.

There were a lot of colleagues, so they ordered a lot of dishes and explained them directly in the photos.

The Peking duck that everyone cares about most,
The portion of one roast duck for 7 people is not bad, one person can eat at least 3-4 pieces of duck meat. After the roasted duck slices come out, you can choose to make salt-and-pepper duck rack or boil duck rack soup (a duck rack processing fee is required) for the remaining duck rack. We chose duck rack soup.

The waiter will first bring you a plate of condiments, one of which is sugar for dipping the duck skin.
Dipping duck skin in sugar is a new way to eat it. It's very novel and unexpectedly not out of line. The rest of the ingredients are for you to wrap into the duck burrito. It is very different from the way it is eaten in Taiwan. One of the ingredients is cucumber. It is very refreshing and delicious when wrapped in a roll with duck meat.
But the duck meat was too thin and small. I felt like I was eating pocket food. Everything was so delicate, thin and small. It was delicious, but not satisfying.

In addition to roast duck, other recommended dishes are:

  • Cleverly pretending to be a bean sprout
    -Honey Crispy Shrimp
    -Duck soup

The environment is spacious and bright, with many seats, but the cleanliness needs to be improved. Maybe the table turnover rate was too fast and the staff didn't have time to clean it. I felt that the floor was not very clean. I saw garbage and fruit seeds.

In terms of service, I encountered the wrong dish twice. In the middle, I asked some questions about the meal, but the waiter couldn't answer them very well. I felt that the education and training were uneven.

In summary, I feel that Yilan’s roast duck is actually not inferior to Siji Minfu😆
If you can’t come to the mainland, you can also go to Yilan to taste it!

If I have another chance in the future, I will want to try another Beijing roast duck restaurant. It is still a good idea to try it for the first time.

Everyone has his own public chopsticks and personal chopsticks, but in fact, in the end, he will accidentally eat the wrong food 😂 The chopstick holder has two ducks, which is very cute.

Saliva duck intestines ¥59 The duck sausage is smooth and slightly spicy, with a strong pepper flavor! It is also a refreshing and appetizing dish. I think it's ordinary, but my colleagues love it!
Cleverly dressed as beans ¥39 One of my favorite cold dishes! Really highly recommended👍👍 Very refreshing and delicious. The delicate green sprouts have a crispy texture when you bite them, and paired with peanuts, it's really delicious. A very refreshing dish.
Special duck cake ¥29 The most eye-catching dish on the table, the duck cake is really cute. The six little ducks are arranged in a triangular formation, like ducklings following the mother duck, trying to get home. It’s filled with red bean paste, so I don’t care about eating it. The puff pastry is very dry, so it’s only suitable for posing for photos and to coax children. 😂
Honey Glazed Crispy Shrimp ¥89 The shrimps are crispy, sweet and delicious. Also highly recommended.
Sautéed Chestnut Mushrooms with Pork in Clear Sauce ¥79 Qingjiang Pork is a traditional specialty of Beijing. It is made of pork through four processes: two pickling and two sun-drying. A dish stir-fried with fresh mushrooms. I think it tastes slightly salty, just average.
Dace with black bean sauce and lettuce ¥69 The dace itself is very salty, so if you eat it with lettuce, it will be ordinary and useless.
Crispy and tender roast duck ¥259/piece
The chef will bring duck meat to take photos for everyone and show a professional smile😆
There is not enough space at the table, so the chef will take a slice next to it before serving it up.
Side dishes ¥6/portion From left to right there are 2 pickles*, sweet noodle sauce, scallions, cucumbers, sugar, grass jelly sticks and minced garlic. When making the duck rolls, just wrap them all in and eat them. Except for the xianzhao strips, which I personally think are weird and add a sweet and sour taste🤢, you can accept all the other ingredients! The duck rolls filled with cucumber and green onions are refreshing and delicious.

Choy sum, tofu, vermicelli and duck bone soup (duck rack processing fee ¥25) It contains cabbage and tofu vermicelli, which is light and delicious. The soup is not very rich. Although it is white in color, it tastes like a light duck soup.
