This time, I went to "Mitsui Mo Time," which is a 6-minute walk from Yakuin Station! Here, you can enjoy snacks and sweets made with sweet "yakiimo" (roasted sweet potato) that has lots of honey.
"Mitsui Mo Time" opened in Yakuin in December 2020 as a branch of the original store "HONEY POTATO" located in Miyazaki Prefecture. There are always several types of sweet "yakiimo" available at the store. The number changes monthly, but during the season from November to December, when sweet potatoes are in peak season, around 10 varieties are said to be available.
The sweet potatoes are aged for at least more than two months and are slowly roasted twice using a special machine. This method allows the sugar content of the potato to reach its highest level.
Also, the soft serve ice cream made at "Mitsui Mo Time" is custom-made in collaboration with a soft serve shop in Miyazaki. It is mixed with roasted sweet potatoes that have been baked for about three hours, allowing you to enjoy the rich and sweet flavor of the sweet potato itself. Additionally, there are various potato menu items such as "sweet potato," "ice cream," "potato tempura chocolate," "sweet potato chips," and "yakiimo," making it exciting just to look at the offerings!
