This cold brew specialty tea shop offers a variety of affordable breakfast options. The French bread and boiled eggs paired with olive oil are full of fragrance, and the iced coffee is a flexible choice. Although it has a heavier roast, the taste is refreshing.
The shop has a comfortable environment, is close to Hakata River, and is suitable for enjoying breakfast after a walk. The cold drip coffee pot at the entrance adds a unique atmosphere to the store.
Drink cold brew while having breakfast at a tea shop! Affordable breakfast options in Fukuoka Hakata
When traveling in Japan, breakfast can be a hassle, and often a tea shop is the solution! This shop is located on the first floor of Hakata Takashimaya, near Nakasu Kawabata Station. You can enjoy a pleasant walk along the Hakata River nearby.
The breakfast time business is excellent. The store's name includes "Mizudashi," which is Japanese for cold brew. Before entering, you can see a row of ice drip pots being extracted next to the entrance, which makes for the perfect decoration.
There are several breakfast options here; the most basic being toast with a boiled egg for just an extra 100 yen with any drink. I opted for the French bread set for an additional 200 yen, along with an iced coffee for 600 yen, totaling only 800 yen, which is very affordable.
The boiled egg is served on an egg stand and looks really cute, accompanied by a small dish of olive oil, which is fantastic for dipping the freshly toasted bread.
The coffee is roasted to a degree I'm personally not accustomed to—it has a strong charcoal taste. However, using cold brew for the iced coffee gives it a fairly clean taste. If I visit again, I might choose a coffee with added milk.
