The sesame milk ice cream offered by the IKEA Swedish food station has a rich and smooth texture, making it highly recommended, while the chocolate ice cream is rather ordinary. The cinnamon rolls are smaller and taste average, but overall the prices are affordable and offer good value for money.
# Open during the New Year
The business hours during the New Year are the same as on regular days. I actually visited on the second day of the Lunar New Year~
Located on the first floor of the Taoyuan IKEA, there is a "Swedish Food Station," which offers items that are a bit different from those in the "Swedish Restaurant" on the top floor. The top floor features main dishes like salmon fillet, roasted chicken, and Swedish meatballs, while the first floor has a light snack menu, selling ice cream, hot dogs, and small meal boxes of meatballs, making it a nice option to recharge after a tiring IKEA visit.
This time I tried two flavors of ice cream—sesame milk and chocolate. The sesame milk has a delightful rich sesame flavor, and the combination of the milky and sesame scents is great. It's not overly sweet, has a smooth texture, and is really delicious. The chocolate flavor doesn’t stand out much; it's just regular chocolate ice cream, but considering it’s only $20 for one, there's not much more to say—it’s affordable.
When I received these ice creams, there’s usually a self-serve ice cream machine next to the food station, which I always want to have when visiting IKEA. Plus, the price is very reasonable, only 10 dollars for an ice cream, making it a great value.
Additionally, I bought a cinnamon roll for breakfast. The cinnamon roll feels a bit small; I’m not sure if its size has shrunk compared to before, but it tastes sweet with a light cinnamon fragrance—just average!
Overall, even though the IKEA Swedish Food Station only sells small snacks, the prices are affordable, and the food is delicious. Highly recommended!
