The prices at Laoganbei are relatively high compared to nearby restaurants, so there are usually seats available, so if there are a small number of people, there is no need to make a reservation. Every time I come to eat at Lao Ganbei, I always come there at short notice because I can't find a restaurant nearby that isn't full.
This time, I didn’t order a set meal or Wagyu beef combo. I ordered everything a la carte and chose items I had never tasted before. There are aged refrigerated beef tongue (tongue), pork belly beef, Iberian frost pig, cherry duck breast, salted salmon leaf salad, wagyu fried dumplings, and fried shrimp tempura sushi.

The middle part of the tongue is thin and chewy, which is the part of beef tongue that is commonly eaten in barbecue. Personally, I prefer the base of the tongue, which has more oil and is softer and tenderer.

I don’t know what else is added to the filling besides beef, but the taste is a bit special. Eat it with grapefruit pepper and salt, it's quite delicious.
Cherry duck
The duck breast was thin, the meat was easily overcooked, and the skin felt like it wasn't roasted long enough. Perhaps duck breast is simply not suitable for grilling.
The other meals were pretty good, but nothing special, so I won’t write about them.
