Street Food | NT$70~NT$80

AI Spot Summary

Located on Green Island, "Grandma's Scallion Pancakes (Grandma's Q Pancakes)" is a well-known snack stall in the area. I didn't know about it at first, but I noticed the crowd when I rode by! Without hesitation, I parked and bought some—this is the attitude of a food lover! This time, I tried the octopus Q pancakes and the spicy tuna Q pancakes. Their pancake skin is very special, with a chewy texture that is distinctly different from regular scallion pancakes and not quite like the common batter pancakes. This type of pancake skin offers an impressive eating experience.

As for the fillings, both the spicy tuna and octopus are quite good. The spiciness of the tuna is moderate and not overly stimulating, and paired with the chewy pancake skin, it's very satisfying to eat; the octopus is tender and has a nice chewiness, adding richness to the texture. However, both types of pancakes have a common issue: the fillings tend to slide to the bottom, so when you start eating from the top, you hardly get any filling in the first few bites and instead encounter the bottom part, which is a bit salty.

Additionally, the prices here are relatively high. The scallion Q pancake costs 80 NTD, which might not be excessive for Green Island, given it's a tourist area. However, compared to other regions, this pricing is indeed on the high side, almost reaching the price of a full meal. Therefore, while the pancakes here are tasty, the overall value for money is somewhat lacking and they are more suited for tourists interested in trying unique textures.
