The quality of the fresh fish varies, and the portion of the fresh salmon is slightly small. The miso ramen broth is too salty, and the white fish tempura has a mediocre texture. The cucumber rolls and the tofu skin udon have a good texture, and the tuna and yam paste gunkan is also quite good. However, the portion of the grilled three-piece sushi is small, and the sea bass tempura sushi has a fishy taste.
The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant are not specifically mentioned, but the care can be seen in the presentation of the dishes.
The quality of service was not specifically mentioned, but it apparently did not affect the dining experience.
Originally, we planned to celebrate the children's birthday after eating, but due to the heavy rain, we decided to retreat home first.
This place has parking available, but! It's easy to fill up (though there weren’t many diners inside, it’s clear that a lot of them aren't their customers, but 'guests' from the neighborhood).
Then the police officer was there waiting for a bunch of cars parked illegally on the road XD
#Thanks to the police officer for letting us off with just a reminder and not issuing a ticket. We really appreciate it!
Meal
Cucumber rolls: I love the fresh, crunchy texture and sweetness of the cucumbers. When I'm tired of sushi, I choose this to change up the taste.
Bean curd udon: The sweet bean curd paired with the lightly salty udon is really tasty. It's a different vibe than instant noodles.
Tuna yam paste gunkan: Smooth yam paste with tuna is quite delicious too. Adding a bit of wasabi enhances the flavor, but too much of it is truly unbearable.
New items
Torched three-piece sushi: As someone with a shellfish allergy, I always want to challenge myself. Is this a mini set? 80 NT dollars looks very small... I feel a bit sorry for this price; is it just this plate??
Sea bass tempura sushi: The fish is large, and some parts didn't have the fish fins cleaned properly, but it was indicated to be careful of fish bones, so be cautious while eating. (The fish alone has a fishy taste.) This plate has the least rice! Although I'm happy there's less rice, it seems a bit excessive, and it was very fluffy. 😑 (I forgot to take a picture.)
Pickled radish and ginger slices (mixed version): There are no separate ginger slices! What is this? For someone who doesn't eat radish, this is evil! My friend ordered four plates in one go, sorting the ginger slices from the white radish, just to eat the ginger slices. I thank her for her hard work in sorting.
My personal conclusion is that eating sushi without ginger slices feels strange, just like having soy sauce without wasabi seems odd! Moreover, the portion of vinegared rice at this shop is considered small, even if taken from the transfer station. Is it because they are too busy to cook rice? ^_^
Today's raw salmon, whether it was one-piece or two-piece, was a bit short and small. I felt it was a bit different from the picture, and I was quite disappointed.
The thick miso ramen noodles with 7 types of fish are quite chewy and pretty good, but the soup is a bit salty and it’s hard to finish it, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
The white fish tempura is average, the fish inside is quite soft, but the texture is not chewy and it is not the type that you absolutely must eat.
The large fresh shrimps were above the standard and were the most satisfying item of the meal.
Finally, there is the limited-edition raw salmon filled with fish eggs. It is delicious overall, and the perilla in the middle is the finishing touch. It is recommended.
