The restaurant's noodle dishes have a consistent flavor. The fish-flavored dumpling noodles are salty and slightly sweet, while the red oil dumpling noodles are aromatic and spicy but the dumpling wrappers are a bit floury. The yam and pork rib soup and the bitter melon and pork rib soup have a clear broth, with the flavors of the ingredients infused into the soup base.
The restaurant's decor is ancient and quaint, featuring a Chinese-style atmosphere. The dining space is spacious and comfortable, making it suitable for gatherings with friends.
The staff is friendly, but the efficiency at checkout needs improvement, as there are occasional small mistakes. However, the overall service attitude is good and pleasant.
Located next to Daan Forest Park, Caiyuexuan Chongqing Dumplings and Noodles is a well-known restaurant that specializes in Sichuan-style noodles. It is said to have been in operation for over ten years, and with more than a thousand Google reviews, the restaurant's strength is indirectly proven.
Today, I enjoyed fish-flavored noodle with dumplings, spicy dumpling noodles, yam ribs soup, and bitter melon ribs soup, totaling 350 NT dollars.
Fish-flavored noodle with dumplings:
The meat sauce is rich and savory, with a hint of sweetness that blends well with the noodles. It is slightly spicy but not overwhelming.
Spicy dumpling noodles:
The Sichuan sauce is fragrant and spicy, with a numbing sensation from the Sichuan peppercorns. However, the dumpling skins have a slightly powdery texture, which affects the overall experience.
Yam ribs soup and bitter melon ribs soup:
The broth is simmered very well, with the flavors of the ingredients fully integrated, resulting in a smooth and soothing taste. However, there is a relatively high bone-to-meat ratio in the ribs, making them a bit difficult to eat. The yam has a creamy texture, and the combination of bitter melon and small dried fish is excellent.
Overall, this is a noodle restaurant with consistently good flavors. Although parking around is inconvenient, it would be a nice choice to stop by for a meal after visiting the park, flower market, or jade market.
Highly recommended to everyone.
➡️Red oil hand copy
Personally I don’t think it’s too spicy, but it has the aroma of Sichuan spicy food. If you are afraid of spicy food, you can try this dish ~ I highly recommend it👍
➡️ Green Bamboo Shoots Chicken Soup
Because the green bamboo shoots and pork ribs soup (75 yuan) was gone, the store helped to replace it with chicken soup (85 yuan). This is a hidden version that is not on the menu!
The bamboo shoots are delicious and the soup is delicious. I like it very much. I will try it next time.
Because I wanted to eat it this time, I will try its noodle soup next time!
Taipei Daan Forest Park - an old store that has been in business for more than ten years. It has 4.0 stars on Google Maps and over a thousand reviews. The yam and pork ribs soup is really highly recommended!
📍Red oil noodles (dry) NT$105
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
This red oil fried hand dish is not spicy, full of peppercorn aroma, and the saltiness is just right. There are 5 wontons in total, which are medium in size and have a little peppery aroma inside. There are green vegetables in the noodles and a little green onion on the side. The sauce accompanying the entire noodles is very satisfying.
📍Red Oil Chao Shou (Dry) NT$90
Ordered by a friend. It should be the same as Chao Shou Noodles, but with less noodles. I won’t write repeated comments!
📍Yam Pork Ribs Soup NT$65
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
There are actually 5 pieces of pork ribs (lean meat) in this soup. It is very real. The meat is very soft and tender without being burnt. It is amazing! The yam has a slightly crisp texture, not too soft, and the soup is very fresh and sweet. It is rare to get a yam and pork ribs soup for 65 yuan in Taipei with so many ingredients (there is also a small piece of carrot in the soup). This is my favorite Will want to come back to drink again! ❤️❤️❤️
📍Green bamboo shoot chicken soup (seasonal) NT$75
Ordered by a friend. The green bamboo shoots and pork ribs soup originally on the menu is gone, only chicken soup is left
📍Fresh mushroom chicken noodles (soup) NT$115
Ordered by a friend. I didn’t eat his food, so I can’t comment haha
▶️ Environment
🔹The whole store is antique, with a bit of Chinese style decoration (?)
🔹There are plenty of seats inside. In addition to tables for four, there are also large round tables.
🔹There are two floors (not sure if the second floor is open now), and we ate on the first floor.
🔹During the meal that day, I found that the floor under the table was wet. I don’t know if the water was spilled, and the tabletop was also a little sticky (cleaning needs to be strengthened)
▶️ Thoughtful reminder
🔹Can be checked out separately. The checkout girl seemed to be new here and not very familiar with it. The checkout price was miscalculated at that time. I double checked with her and she discovered it XD
🔹You can use TWQR Taiwan Pay, Quanying Pay, All-in-One Card, Orange Pay, and Oppay
▶️ Overall evaluation
🔹This is a restaurant that I would like to come back to eat at. I really like the pork rib soup! If I am nearby, I would like to find a restaurant where I can eat with my friends.
🔹I heard that the side dishes are also very good, but unfortunately I didn’t order them at that time. I will try them next time!
