Overall Review: 🌕🌕🌘🌑🌑
Dickson's Fooday food commentary is back!
This time we continue our journey in the outskirts of Sanxia,
and have arrived at a so-called Country Chicken City!

Upon arriving, I was a bit shocked
because it didn’t look like a restaurant at all.
From the outside, there was no sign or any indication,
and as I walked in, it felt more like a worker's dormitory.

It appears to be another mysterious hidden restaurant!
So how does the food here actually taste?
Even though it looks a bit rundown,
the food might be great!

But unexpectedly, we were very disappointed 🥲🥲🥲
Firstly, the dining space was actually quite large,
but a large part of it resembled a home or construction site.
Of course, the dining area had about four or five tables,
which was clearly for communal meals.

Unfortunately, maybe because there aren’t many customers,
the environment wasn’t very well-maintained.
When we sat down, I noticed there were a lot of spider webs.
Although the dining area had plenty of sunlight and was bright,
it was clearly not kept very tidy 🤔

As for the food, since this place is called Country Chicken City,
the specialty should be chicken, right?

However, I felt like this restaurant was actually focusing more on bamboo shoots.
Almost all the dishes were prepared with bamboo shoots.
I remember eating five or six dishes that day,
and about half of them had bamboo shoots in them 🤣🤣🤣
I can only say if you really love bamboo shoots,
you would probably be very happy here,
after all, every dish had a different way of cooking the bamboo shoots,
and there was quite a generous amount of bamboo shoots used 🤣🤣

Additionally, the menu at this restaurant has a unique character.
As you can see from the photos, it’s written on something that resembles bamboo slips.
It’s quite retro and distinctive 😆

However, I personally felt that the dishes here weren't very appealing.
It felt a bit like randomly ordering a few dishes from any restaurant.
The tastes were quite ordinary, and there were no memorable points.
Even the so-called country chicken didn’t offer any special flavor.

I can only say that this meal felt like just a casual eat-out.
But there is indeed one advantage:
the overall price of the meal was very cheap.
You can fill up at a very low price,
and of course, you can enjoy a lot of bamboo shoot dishes.

That's probably the special advantage of this place.

⭐️ Food
From what I remember, we had mountain chicken that day,
but it wasn't much different from the chicken we usually buy in the markets in Taipei,
so the cooking method probably didn't impress us much.

There were quite a few dishes,
mostly made with bamboo shoots.
I recall just having the feeling of eating a lot of bamboo shoots.
The cooking methods for each dish were obviously different,
but overall, I just remember a lot of bamboo shoots.

Also, the noodles here are quite unique.
If you eat the noodles on their own, they can feel quite bland.
But with friends' reminders,
we learned that the country chicken should be combined with the noodles.
You can mix the chicken oil with the noodles.

At this point, you’ll find that the noodles are actually quite delicious!
It seems the best takeaway memory is probably these noodles 🤣

⭐️ Beverages
This restaurant serves standard drinks without anything particularly special,
just ordinary things like barley tea and guava juice,
so I won't comment on that specifically.

⭐️ Atmosphere
Entering this restaurant was completely unlike a typical dining experience.
It felt a bit like walking into someone else's house or a construction site restaurant.
Once you walk in, the hall resembles an office.
The staff would guide you to your dining area.
However, the dining area itself lacked any special atmosphere,
feeling more like an outdoor eatery.

Moreover, as mentioned earlier,
the dining area was not very clean.
Many tables had obviously not been used for a long time,
which was evident from numerous spider webs.

I even considered switching tables
but was stopped by staff suggesting that the current one was better 🤣🤣🤣
But boss, there were spider webs over there～～～

So, in terms of atmosphere, I can say it's quite lacking,
and my rating reflects that as quite low 🤣
After all, the dining experience wasn't very pleasant.

⭐️ Service
My impression of the service here was also quite basic,
just the standard taking of orders and serving the meals.

⭐️ Price
This is probably the only significant advantage of this place.
Eating at two tables together,
everyone only spent about $500 to $600.
For a communal meal, that's quite cheap.

But perhaps that's also because we didn’t order anything special,
and most were bamboo shoot dishes,
so I think the flavors and food we experienced at this price were just reasonable.

⭐️ Location
This restaurant is located in the outskirts of Sanxia,
and you have to follow Google Maps to get here.
Otherwise, I don't think most people would pass by this area 🤣🤣
Maybe only locals or nearby residents would come to eat here.
Of course, transportation requires driving here,
so I would rate it lower for transportation and location. 🥹

⭐️ In summary
Basically, I wouldn’t specifically come back to eat here again.
After all, the transport isn’t very convenient,
and there really isn’t anything special to eat here.
A place called Country Chicken City should have delicious country chicken, right?

But unexpectedly, many dishes served were all bamboo shoot dishes.
Bamboo shoots, oh bamboo shoots,
are you the signature dish here? 🤣🤣🤣

Of course, for friends who really love bamboo shoot dishes,
if you’re very curious or interested in this restaurant,
you could pop in when passing by.

Otherwise, based on the dishes and atmosphere,
I think there's nothing particularly attractive here.
