🥢 A super popular black and white sliced noodle shop with 70 years of local history

Another Yancheng local shop run by three generations, established since 1954!

Due to my fondness for another noodle shop on the same street, I have always heard about this one but never tried it. Coincidentally, it was the day when other noodle places were closed, and I wanted to eat at the highly-rated Beigang Cai (Michelin recommended) but found it packed with a long line, so I decided to head to this place that had been on my to-try list for a long time! 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️

From a distance, I saw the blue and red sign, very eye-catching. Luckily, I arrived at dinner time on a holiday at 18:00, and there weren't many people, so I didn't have to wait and could find a seat right away. ✌🏻

➰ Dry Noodles 60
This noodle shop uses oil noodles, which I personally don’t prefer as much. However, the seasoning and the meat pairings were quite good, so it’s purely a matter of personal taste. 🥹

➰ Black and White Sliced Meat
Since I don't eat most internal organs and some cuts were sold out, I ordered pig skin, radish, and pig intestine this time. Everything was very clean and fresh, and paired with soy sauce, it tasted very authentic. 👍🏻

➰ Water Spinach 45
The water spinach was picked very well, with no black spots or overly mature parts. It was very tender and easy to eat. ❤️

➰ Meat Soup 60
The fish ball soup and some meat soups were also sold out, so I changed my order to the meat soup that many other tables were having. The pieces of meat were very large, and the cabbage was not overly mushy. The soup flavor was quite good, but the downside was that it was served extremely hot, and with the air conditioning not very strong, I ended up sweating a lot while eating. 🔥

In summary…
While one can sense the restaurant's attentiveness to ingredients everywhere, next time I visit Yancheng district for noodles, I might still choose to return to a familiar place (the noodles there are wheat noodles). After all, the familiar noodle shop still hits the spot! ✨
