I was just very hungry, so I came to eat here. I didn't have too many expectations.
In terms of portion size, a guy can fill up with just one set meal. If you order ramen, you can get a free serving of noodles, but you need to mention it when you order. There's no way to add it later. This time I didn't add any, because I wasn't sure about the portion and was afraid I couldn't finish it. But even without adding, you can still eat enough.
As for the taste, having eaten so many delicious meals, I find this place quite average. If you're a ramen expert, you should skip this place; you definitely won't like it. 😅
The environment inside is bright and clean, and it's comfortable to walk in.
Overall, the experience was decent and not bad. It's just not good enough to warrant a special trip. If you're nearby and don’t know what to eat, you might consider it.
After watching the fireworks on Qixi, we looked for something to eat nearby. Many places were closed, so we chose this restaurant.
We ordered two dishes:
Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen for $185. The broth wasn't very rich, even though the staff said the flavor could be adjusted. It tasted salty but not strong, so we just let it be. The chashu was not very well cooked; it tasted a lot like barbecued pork.
Volcano Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen + C Set for $300, with a little spice. The broth was very spicy in a flat way without any depth. The rest of the ingredients were just the same as any regular tonkotsu chashu ramen, only differing in the spicy element. The set included two fried chicken wings and two fried scallops. I felt those tiny items weren't worth $100 😮💨.
We also ordered two marinated eggs (originally we only ordered one serving, but added another to get the discount).
The service was relatively fast, but the food was very average. When we checked out, the staff didn't mention the inability to apply the discount for point accumulation (200 NT dollars per point). Honestly, it felt quite stingy; discounts and point accumulation should not affect each other. But that's fine; I probably won't come back a second time.
When the food was served, the staff said a string of very vague things that were hard to understand. After hearing it twice, I finally realized they were saying that the flavor of the broth could be adjusted.
