The cake selection is limited, but the Earl Basque cake has a dense and smooth texture. The sweetness of the red tea latte can be adjusted, but the half-sugar option is not as sweet as expected. The yuzu tea and tiramisu have good flavors; the yuzu tea is similar to Korean yuzu tea, and the tiramisu has a mild coffee flavor and is not too sweet.
The indoor style is simple and sophisticated, and the dining environment is comfortable, especially the outdoor seating where you can enjoy the sea view, which is incredibly soothing. The decor is charming, and the tables and chairs create a pleasant atmosphere, making it perfect for enjoying afternoon tea after a stroll.
The service is friendly, although they only operate on Fridays to Sundays and only accept cash. The staff is happy to assist customers in adjusting their seating. The service staff have a good attitude, making it suitable for those looking to surf or play.
Location: Toucheng Township, Yilan County
An afternoon tea shop by the seaside
After a walk on the dike, we spontaneously decided to go in for afternoon tea
But since we didn’t bring any cash
They only accept cash, luckily we could transfer the payment
🌟 Yuzu Tea
Basically very similar to the Korean yuzu tea in a jar
Served with hot tea and hot water
It’s quite tasty
But has a flavor you can easily imagine
🌟 Tiramisu
Belongs to the kind that has a base layer
Not the liquid type of tiramisu
Overall, the coffee flavor isn’t too strong
And it’s not too sweet
Overall delicious
The decor is basically very cute
The design of the tables and chairs have a nice atmosphere
The view of the sea next to it is great
On a typical afternoon, there aren’t too many people
Including us, there were about three groups of customers
The staff’s attitude is very good and friendly
I recommend it to those who come to surf or play.
The outside is my favorite walking route. I enjoy walking from Wushi Harbor's seawall to the other side of Waiao. Last time I went for a walk, I found a café here and thought I should come back for a walk and afternoon tea when the weather is nice.
I chose a beautifully sunny afternoon to visit. There was a small blackboard at the entrance displaying today's desserts. Upon entering, I ordered right away; the drinks had a physical menu, but the cakes didn't have a display case and instead used a tablet to show pictures and prices. I thought that was pretty good—it was clear and saved space. I ordered a cup of red tea latte, which allowed for sugar adjustment. I opted for half sugar but regretted it upon drinking—it was really not sweet at all; it wasn't bitter, but it wasn't to my taste. Next time, I might skip the sugar adjustment for a better balance. I chose the Earl Grey Basque cake; I actually wanted to have tiramisu, but it was sold out. The cake was quite nice, with a smooth and creamy texture.
I really liked the overall interior style; the wooden furniture paired with gray walls felt simple yet elegant. Since I visited on a weekday afternoon, there weren't many people, and the dining experience was great. The minimum spending was just one drink, and they only accepted cash. During busy times, the dining limit is 1.5 hours. Initially, I was seated next to the counter but later asked if I could change seats to enjoy the view outside. I was moved to a spot by the entrance, where I could eat while enjoying the scenery. They had limited outdoor seating, and I highly recommend sitting outside if the weather isn't too hot, as that allows for clear views of the sea.
I highly recommend taking a walk along the seawall before or after your meal; paired with nice weather and the sound of the waves, it’s extremely soothing. Their current business hours are only from Friday to Monday, which is quite limited. I inquired with the staff about the upstairs being an Airbnb, and if it shares the same decor style, it should be quite beautiful. Overall, the dining experience that day was quite pleasant, and I would like to try some other desserts if given the opportunity.
