Usually, I don't have the habit of eating breakfast, but eating at this place feels very warm and reassuring. 🍴𖤐 ̖´-
I hesitated a few times before and missed out a few Sundays, but this time I finally visited. Basically, every time I bike past, I can see a crowd of customers (which stirs up my desire to buy).

The shop is well-kept, clean, and the containers for the ingredients are simple yet tidy. Seeing the production process directly gives a sense of reassurance.
This time, among the nearly 20 items packed closely together, I chose the salted egg rice ball and sweet rice ball. Besides that, there are also choices like Taiwanese steamed buns, rice cakes, and other drinks.
The rice balls also allow for customization, with options for purple rice (+5 NT dollars) or white rice. You can also add eggs, make it larger, or add spiciness (spicy pickled vegetables).

✐ Salted egg rice ball (white rice) $50

  • I was initially worried that it would be bland without meat, but the salted egg and other ingredients together create a rich flavor. There are crunchy youtiao (fried dough sticks) and pickled vegetables, as well as the savory pork floss and salted egg, which complement each other and make it layered in taste.

✐ Sweet rice ball (white rice) $40

  • This one seemed more special and piqued my curiosity, so I ordered it.
I had imagined the sweet filling to be something like red bean paste or jujube paste, but instead, I found old-fashioned sweet pork floss (is that what it’s called? Hahaha).
I couldn't eat it in the morning and only tried it close to evening, and it was still delicious! It didn’t leave me feeling empty; the rice grains became chewier, and eating it warm makes it more enjoyable.
The shop also sprinkles sugar and peanuts on the sweet rice ball, but the flavors I experienced were more delicate than what I described. As I chewed, different aromas would come out; maybe you really need to try it to understand. 😝

In summary: I think the rice balls here belong to the type that just get better the more you eat!
