Hushang Jizhuang offers a variety of Chinese dishes with delicious broth, and the noodles are chewy and springy. Particularly, the chicken in the scallion oil chicken ramen is tender and full of flavor. The Chengdu Bobo chicken soup is spicy but not overpowering, and overall, the flavors are diverse and delicious.
The store is located on Leye Street, and the interior decoration is comfortable, creating a friendly atmosphere.
The service staff are friendly and professional, carefully explaining the pronunciation of the dish names to enhance the dining experience.
The "Hushang Chicken Restaurant" is located on Leye Street, near the Liuzhangli MRT station, and claims to specialize in Jianghu cuisine with rice and noodle dishes. Although chicken is the main offering, there are still pork and beef dishes available.
Today, I took out scallion chicken ramen and Chengdu bowl chicken soup ramen, totaling 385 TWD.
Scallion Chicken Ramen:
The broth is smooth and mild, and the ramen consists of the common round yellow noodles. The noodles are slightly thick, with a chewy texture. The scallion chicken is served separately in another container. Enjoying the mild chicken soup while savoring tender chicken rich in scallion flavor is quite delightful. The seasoning with onion and cucumber is just right, making it very enjoyable. The chicken is mostly deboned, except for one piece of ankle cartilage that couldn't be removed.
Chengdu Bowl Chicken Soup Ramen:
The pronunciation is "bo," not "benben" chicken and definitely not "ganggang" chicken. I got the pronunciation right on my first attempt, and I saw a flash of surprise on the owner's face. Although it is named after Chengdu, the restaurant has made some adjustments to suit Taiwanese tastes. It has a fragrant and spicy flavor, but it remains easy to eat, not overwhelmingly spicy to the point that one bite makes you resist taking a second. I think the cilantro adds a perfect finishing touch to the soup.
Overall, it's a very delicious and diverse Chinese cuisine restaurant. Besides the two dishes I enjoyed today, I'd also like to try the Yunnan sour and spicy, salt-baked ginger, General Tso's chicken, and Sichuan mouthwatering chicken, which all sound enticing. I intend to return multiple times when I have the chance.
There used to be a Dun-nan branch, but it has quietly disappeared. Now, if you want to eat here, you really have to go to Liuzhangli.
I recommend it to everyone!
