Located on Dongqiao Road, this ramen shop is one of the few that is not in the downtown Tainan area but is still quite famous. If you check the Google reviews, you can see a lot of exaggerated comments, some even claiming that this place is flawless. Of course, a place as impressive as this deserves a visit.
At this shop, you can only queue on-site, so you either have to come early or choose off-peak times or rainy days. There are quite a few rules in the restaurant, such as no takeout, each person must order a bowl of noodles (can’t I just have the chashu rice!?), and you need to leave as soon as you finish eating. They seem to have most of the common rules found in ramen shops.
The ramen comes in both thick and regular broth, and I feel that the regular is sufficient. The chashu and noodles are both delicious. The broth is very rich, and there is plenty of garlic available for you to add yourself, making it easy to create an incredibly hearty ramen experience.
Additionally, this shop has a must-try giant fried chicken that is really much larger than usual bite-sized pieces. The skin is crispy, the inside is tender, and it's very juicy! I highly recommend it!
Their chashu rice is also tasty, as the mayonnaise and chashu meat blend perfectly, creating an irresistible sweet and fragrant flavor. But honestly, with the rule that you have to eat a bowl of noodles, how many people can manage to enjoy a bowl of noodles and still have chashu rice at the same time? 🤔
By the way, their osmanthus red tea is super delicious and refreshing, making it a perfect choice to sip after finishing your noodles!
This is a popular ramen shop that I didn’t expect but unexpectedly liked!
There are always crowds of people every time I pass by Ano Dolphin. Today I happened to pass by it just after dinner opening time (5:30). I saw that there was no queue, so I decided to come and have a bite.
Fortunately, I was able to sit down directly, and the friendly service attitude of the store staff has subverted the cold impression given by famous ramen restaurants. You will have a menu, the price is 230-260 yuan, and the contents are clearly marked, so the price is reasonable.
Today I chose tonkotsu tsukemen for NT$260. It is a series with a stronger taste. In fact, the soup is saltier because of the addition of pig back fat, but it has more of a pig aroma. However, the advantage of tsukemen is that you can decide how much you want according to your own taste. Soup.
The contents of the tsukemen include:
After eating, you can understand why the store is so popular. In addition to careful preparation of ingredients and authentic seasonings, the side dishes are also completely high-priced! A bowl of unseasoned fungus for NT$35 will give you plenty of shredded fungus. You can also pay attention to nutrition when eating ramen.
However, there are plenty of noodles, so those with smaller appetites are advised to choose less noodles. In addition, the store also provides takeaway!
