The atmosphere at Shengbo Pavilion in New Moon Square is comfortable, and the location is convenient, especially with easy parking.
The staff reminded that the meals were slower on that day, but there was a lack of proactive service in replenishing side dishes and soup, which needs improvement.
Katsuhikon is located at Crescent Plaza and has been around for many years. I've eaten there several times and find it okay. If I'm craving fried pork cutlet, it's a place I would choose, and parking is convenient.
As soon as you sit down, the staff will ask if you want tea or water, and you can order via a tablet. After ordering, they bring sesame seeds and a grinding tool, allowing you to grind them to your desired coarseness and add the sauce on the side. I find that quite fun. I like to pair the shredded cabbage with sesame sauce; although it’s quite rich, it goes well together.
I usually order the fried pork cutlet, but sometimes I’ve encountered a texture of meat that I didn't particularly like. This time, I opted for the Hiroshima oyster set, which included two oysters, four small pieces of chicken cutlet, and two pieces of zucchini. I think it's even better than the pork cutlet, and it has vegetables, meat, and seafood, making it feel very satisfying. There are also refillable side dishes; among those, I particularly like the black beans. For the main dish, you can choose either white rice or barley rice, and you can also choose between tofu or radish miso soup. The soup is a bit salty, but it’s still enjoyable with the meal.
The staff informed us that there were more customers today, so the meals might take a bit longer. I don’t know if it was just me being particularly hungry that day, but it did feel like quite a wait. Since I had dined there before, I knew the shredded cabbage, side dishes, soup, and rice could be refilled endlessly. Although I had no special requests, I felt a bit disappointed that the staff didn’t check in on that.
When it was time to settle the bill, I noticed there were quite a few credit card partnerships, but mostly on weekdays. That day was a Saturday, and using the Crescent co-branded card provided a 5% discount, which was quite helpful.
