The meal features the golden sand squid, which comes highly recommended; it has a rich aroma of salted egg yolk and a great texture. The water lily is crisp but lacks any memorable points; the stir-fried beef ho fun has a mild flavor and lacks depth; the garlic mud white meat is refreshing and easy to eat. Overall, the meal offers a good cost-performance ratio.
The restaurant has a spacious area, with air conditioning, and a clean and comfortable environment, suitable for those who want to dine quietly.
This time I came to "Xiāngjiāng Xiǎochǎo" in Annan for lunch because the Google reviews were pretty good, so I decided to give it a try. The interior space is quite large, with air conditioning, and the environment is clean and comfortable. Although there were a few groups of customers at noon, it wasn't crowded overall, and there were quite a few empty tables, making it suitable for those who want to have a quiet meal.
In terms of the dishes, I highly recommend the salted egg yolk squid, which is wrapped in a generous amount of salted egg yolk. It has a strong aroma and a great texture; it's rich and flavorful without being greasy, and it stands out impressively. The water lily dish is at the standard level of stir-fried water lily—crispy but not particularly memorable. The stir-fried beef ho fun, in comparison, is rather ordinary, with a relatively mild soy sauce flavor and not much depth overall. The garlic sauce pork slices, however, are quite refreshing—the slices aren't too thick, and when paired with the garlic sauce and the dipping sauce, they taste very pleasant.
We had four dishes for two people, totaling less than 500 NT dollars, which is quite good value for a stir-fry restaurant. Overall, it's a comfortable place with several impressive dishes; it's great for a casual meal on weekdays, and I will consider revisiting.
