Today we came to the Japanese restaurant in the mid valley south key department store.
Usually there is a long queue when passing by this store.
So I have always wondered if this place is so powerful and famous?

So I came here to give it a try
But I didn't expect it to be a huge disappointment
This store does have a wide variety of Japanese food.
From sashimi to rice bowls to set meals to nigiri sushi to hand rolls to chawanmushi
All kinds of Japanese food, everything you can think of
Basically it will appear on the menu here

But there are many items
It doesn’t mean the food has to be delicious!
Personally, I think the food here is really ordinary.
And sorry for his price

In addition, the overall dining environment is not very good either.
A bit like a noisy department store food court
And when dining in the restaurant on the same day
The table wasn't even cleaned
There are also rice grains left by previous customers.
These parts are very deductible!

👉Sashimi
Born as a sashimi lover
Just come to different Japanese restaurants
If you can order sashimi, you will definitely order it.

But sashimi itself just depends on whether the fish is fresh or not.
The sashimi in this shop is quite good.
The portion is pretty big enough
The price will not be very unreasonable
For this price and this sashimi, I think it’s pretty ok.
So I came to this store this time
The only thing I think is good is probably the sashimi (?

👉Sushi
Ordered a salmon roe nigiri sushi
I think this part is quite passable.
There are quite a lot of ingredients for nigiri sushi.
And overall it’s pretty solid
Paired with wasabi, it tastes delicious!

👉Beef slices appetizer
This just doesn't work at all
I originally thought this beef slice was considered raw beef.
But when the result was delivered, it was not
It's already cooked beef slices
It can be said to be about 50% or 70% rare.
But it just doesn’t taste good enough!

It feels a bit like eating veal fillet.
This is not the feeling I want~~~~

👉Chawanmushi
A very basic version of chawanmushi
There isn’t much material inside.
Just basic eggs and some mushrooms

👉Eel rice bowl
The main dish this time was the eel rice bowl.
with an egg
It looks very luxurious in the picture
But it was a shabby version when it was served.

The portion of eel is very small
Probably just four or five small pieces
Of course it comes with an egg on the side
So you can say it is an eel egg rice bowl

But overall, because there is very little material
So basically I didn’t finish it
It's probably just eating eel with rice, and then it's over.

The eel itself has no special taste either.
So it can be said that this main dish was a failure.
It’s a very deductible one!

This store is a Japanese restaurant
It does provide a wide variety of Japanese food to choose from.
But it is conceivable that
Many dishes are actually not made very carefully and taste delicious.
In terms of the positioning of this store
It’s probably fast-food Japanese food🫨🫨

The style of this store is to compete with customers.
There is no special decoration inside the store
Just like a restaurant
And maybe to accommodate more guests
So the seating arrangement is actually very crowded.

Although there are sofa seats
But not particularly comfortable
So it basically feels like a Japanese restaurant with a heavy meal.

⭐️Service section
Because we also use online ordering here.
So the purpose of the waiter is just to deliver the food and help you clear the table.
But it was mentioned at the beginning
I think the cleanliness here is quite substandard.
When I sit down in my seat

There are rice grains in front of me
And there are many oil stains on the table
These are quite unhygienic and substandard
So I think the service part is quite poor.

Maybe it’s because it’s located inside a department store
So the prices in this store are quite high.
It’s probably the same price as an average high-end Japanese restaurant.
It tastes like this and it costs about NT$1,500 for me to eat alone.

It's quite scary, right?
Especially since I feel like I haven’t eaten anything.

Of course, because it is located inside a department store
And this store is considered to be in the restaurant area on the high floor.
So I often see many people queuing outside
The location part should be considered quite good.
Especially around the corner from the escalator

No wonder it was packed with guests.

Personally, I think if you want to eat Japanese food
There must be more options nearby
Of course, this store brings together all the Japanese food options
If you just need a lazy bag and casual Japanese food
Of course I think you can still come

But there are obviously more delicious Japanese food out there
Why stick with this one?
