In terms of the dishes, the Korean spicy mentaiko flat noodles have a rich flavor, with plenty of seafood and a well-balanced taste. The Earl Grey latte tea has a good proportion but is slightly on the unsweet side. The matcha Basque cheesecake maintains its smooth texture. However, the flavor of the masala mushroom cheese flat noodles is somewhat difficult to comprehend.
The café's decor has an industrial style, with the main light source being yellow. The space is somewhat dark but quite comfortable. The interior of the building is unique, featuring a multi-level design, so be careful when walking on the stairs. There is a small exhibition inside the shop, and the atmosphere is as charming as a Japanese magazine.
The delivery speed of the staff is moderate, and their service attitude is good. Customers can choose their seats and place orders freely, and checking out is also very convenient.
In Yilan, many shops are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so it’s great to find this café that is open every day. We set off to have brunch.
The interior has a very Japanese feel, and the dessert menu on the wall looks like something from a Japanese magazine. The overall decor has an industrial style, and the space is somewhat dark, dominated by warm yellow lighting, which gives the interior a unique atmosphere, especially in the loft area. After climbing the stairs, the floor feels a bit delicate and creaks with movement, making me question my weight a bit 😂. From the second floor, you can see the staff preparing coffee downstairs, and the restroom sign featuring Mario is quite cute. There’s also a small exhibit and some items for sale in the café.
Once we got the menu, we looked for a seat and confirmed our orders before heading to the counter on the first floor to place our order, and we would pay when leaving. Since we hadn’t eaten anything, we were super hungry. I ordered spicy Korean-style mentaiko wide noodles, which was exactly to my taste. I love mentaiko; it was mildly spicy, and it had clams and shrimp, which I felt there were more of than I expected. The two large pieces of seaweed on top were arranged like in ramen, and the flavor was rich and quite delicious. The drink was an Earl Grey latte; I think the milk and tea ratio was fine, but it was quite unsweetened. My friend ordered the mascarpone mushroom cheese wide noodles, and I couldn't quite get into that flavor—it's not that it was bad, but I didn’t like it as much as the previous dish.
Later, we ordered sautéed potatoes with skin, which tasted seasoned like salty crispy chicken—quite strong in flavor. For dessert, we ordered matcha Basque cheesecake; it wasn’t bitter or overly sweet, and the texture in the middle was smooth. I thought it was good.
On weekdays, there’s no time limit for dining (on weekends, it's limited to two hours), with a minimum spend of a drink or a dish. Personally, I think it's a plus that the café offers both sweet and savory items. The speed at which the staff served our food was just right. Although the space was somewhat dark, I don't think it was a problem if you wanted to chat. If you need more light, you can sit on the first floor. Since it was raining and the ambiance was quite cozy, we stayed from just after eleven in the morning until five in the afternoon. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience, and I would like to try other dishes if I have the chance.
