Chinese | NT$470-NT$540

AI Spot Summary

The signature sugarcane chicken is very delicious, with a thin and crispy skin and tender chicken meat. However, the portions of other stir-fried dishes are relatively small, making the value for money not very high, though the serving speed is fast.

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, suitable for group dining. It gets crowded on weekends, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance. The interior has an idol theme, with wall advertisements and TVs showing food programs.

The staff are professional and friendly, able to assist with cutting the chicken and plating, making the dining experience enjoyable.

🔺Crispy Sugarcane Bucket Chicken $700👍🏼
Once served, a staff member helps to peel the chicken and arranges it neatly. It comes with pepper salt and chicken oil, enough for about 3-4 people. The chicken skin is thin and crispy, and even the breast meat is tender and very delicious, while the chicken juices are retained in the legs.
🔺Stir-fried Water Lily with Seeds $170
🔺Japanese-style Cold Noodles with Cat Fish $200
🔺Spicy Clams $260
🔺Typhoon Shelter Squid $350
🔺Pineapple Shrimp Balls $260
🔺Steamed Grouper with Seeds $550
🔺Boneless Sweet and Sour Ribs $280
🔺Sugarcane Chicken Oil Noodles $60

The other stir-fry dishes are not particularly outstanding or memorable, but they are served quite quickly; almost all dishes arrived within 10 minutes after ordering. The restaurant creates a vibe reminiscent of a celebrity atmosphere, with advertisements on the walls and a TV broadcasting various food recommendation shows. At the checkout counter, there are enlarged pictures of the celebrity with Lin Shuhao, Jay Chou, and Liu Genghong.
🚾The restrooms are on the left side outside the dining area, separated by gender.
🅿️The parking lot is quite spacious, capable of accommodating about 50 cars. On the day I visited, I also encountered a Porsche convoy, and as a fellow car owner, I parked nearby to join in the fun. 😺

When in Yilan, how can one not try the bucket chicken? There are actually many options available, and this place was recommended by a friend who said it started as a food truck and has now grown into a large establishment. That day, we split into two tables with friends, and below is what we ordered at our table.

▪️ Beef with Three-Star Scallions $260
▪️ Shrimp and Scrambled Eggs $220
▪️ Stir-fried Sea Gourd $260
▪️ Spicy Chicken Soup with Green Chili $420
▪️ Stir-fried Water Lily with Tree Seeds $160
▪️ Sugarcane-flavored Chicken Oil Noodles $150
▪️ Deep-fried Squid Balls $220
▪️ Black Bean Catfish $220
▪️ Typhoon Shelter Squid $350
▪️ Golden Kimchi $90
▪️ White Rice $15/bowl
▪️ Daren Brother’s Sugarcane-flavored Crispy Bucket Chicken $700/each
(Three chickens split between the two tables totaling $1050)

The chicken arrives at the table whole. You can ask the staff to help portion it, and they do it quite professionally, even arranging it nicely on the plate (not sure if we just encountered a very kind lady). The color seems darker than the usual chicken; it’s not very large and quite tender. The flavor is not very strong on its own, but the dipping sauce and pepper salt are quite good (the pepper salt is delicious, haha).

The other stir-fried dishes were served quickly. In terms of flavor, I think they were fairly standard, but the spicy chicken is a bit spicy, and some dishes felt a bit pricey, like the squid balls which are five pieces for $220... The squid is tasty.

Overall, although I don't eat at places like this often, this one is decent. It’s not hard to eat but I wouldn’t particularly want to return. The chicken’s flavor isn't very special, but the skin is roasted really well. The total cost for our shared table seemed a bit more expensive than what I’ve had before, and the crowd on holidays is considerable. I recommend making a reservation first.
