I've actually been paying attention to this shop for quite a while. I wanted to visit them when they were just a studio, as they specialize in chiffon cakes made with rice. I was always curious about what makes them different from regular ones. Later, I saw that they opened a café where you can dine in, and I really wanted to go, but their opening hours are limited. I was empty-handed on two previous visits, but I finally made it.

The entire first floor is white, and with the floor-to-ceiling glass doors, it feels very bright and spacious. The second floor features many wooden tables and chairs, creating a warm atmosphere, and there’s an elevator, which is friendly for elderly people or those with small children. The minimum spend is one drink or a seating fee of 50 NT dollars. I found the seating fee model quite special the first time I saw it.

On the day I visited, it was probably because it was a holiday and around three or four o'clock, the rice chiffon cakes only had honey lemon and cocoa flavors left. I ended up ordering the honey lemon. The chiffon had a soft texture and wasn’t dry, with a slight tartness from the lemon and the flavor of honey. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of sour things, but it didn’t taste too sour and was refreshing without being overly sweet. I thought it was quite delicious. When the food was served, they also offered two flavors of pudding, salted flower and another, for us to sample, which I thought were both quite good.

For the drink, I ordered the Ming Yun recipe fresh milk tea, which had finely textured milk foam. It had a stronger tea flavor but wasn’t overwhelming; I also thought it was good. The staff was very friendly, and later, I asked him why their opening days aren’t fixed public holidays but rather period-based. He said the owner has a farm to maintain, and the figs they use in their products are homegrown, as are the eggs for their pudding, so the store hours end up being limited. It’s impressive that the owner manages multiple roles.

Overall, the experience was quite nice. Their main offerings are pure rice, gluten-free, and low-burden cakes, but they taste just as delicious as regular cakes. The space is also very comfortable. I initially planned to take home the cocoa flavor to share with my family, but it turned out to be sold out, which makes me want to find time to visit again and try different flavors.
