This time I visited "Murakami Pudding Cake" at the Hsinchu High-Speed Rail Station. They focus on traditional-style cakes, but honestly, after finishing it, I'm still not quite sure where the "pudding" is; it's just a very fluffy and soft cake, which does have a nice texture.

I’ve tried a few flavors before, and I personally recommend the chocolate and strawberry. The chocolate flavor is rich but not overly sweet, making it a more consistently enjoyable option. This time I chose the strawberry, and the cake was just as soft as the original flavor, with a filling that was somewhat like a thick strawberry jam. Surprisingly, this filling kept the cake moist and made it quite palatable, which was a plus.

I usually prefer matcha, but I think their matcha flavor is just average; the matcha aroma isn’t very pronounced, possibly because the overall flavoring is more conservative and lacks the slight bitterness and sweetness that matcha should have. So compared to that, I still recommend the chocolate or strawberry.

In terms of price, it’s quite reasonable, especially for a handmade cake, and you won’t feel a sting when buying it. If you happen to be near the high-speed rail station and want to grab a small snack or bring something back as a gift, it’s a great option.
