The well-known chain of sesame flatbread and soy milk shops, Wang Family Flatbread, is located on the corner of Zhongzheng Road in the Xinxing District. It is very noticeable on the busy street, with large blue and white letters spelling out "Wang Family Flatbread," giving it an impressive appearance. Similar to other chain soy milk shops, they sell mostly the same items, but their specialty is the "flatbread."
Their flatbread is about the size of toast and is quite different from the long, crispy flatbreads one might expect; it leans more towards the Chinese-style large pancake variety. They offer a variety of fillings, including eggs, meat, and vegetables.
Since I don’t particularly like flatbread, I decided to try their pan-fried dumplings instead. They are slightly longer than usual pan-fried dumplings, so they could also be considered potstickers. A serving of five costs 30 NT dollars, and the filling consists of minced meat and cabbage, which is sweet and delicious. Even a small portion is quite filling.
