🍳 Super cheap traditional breakfast shop

I've always wanted to try savory soy milk.
That morning, my partner and I agreed to have a traditional brunch. ☀️
So we rode our bikes to Xinglong Ju's main store.
Little did we know, we seriously underestimated the holiday crowds.
Looking at the long queue that extended to the main road,
both of us locals felt it was quite unnecessary.

At that moment, we happened to see Guomao Lai Lai Soy Milk not far away.
I remembered it was quite a famous place.
The crowd there was relatively much smaller,
so we decided it was the place for us‼️

At the entrance, we could see
that the shop was making their famous meat buns fresh.
As we walked in, we realized why there were so few people.
I don't know if it was because of the typhoon passing through (10/5),
but basically, most items were not available.
They only had a few boxes of egg pancakes, sweet and savory baked buns, and meat buns.

Since there were really too few options,
my partner and I each got a savory baked bun
and a cup of unsweetened soy milk.
Then he grabbed an additional box of egg pancakes.
That was all we could get for this round.

I personally quite liked the flavor of the baked bun.
Biting into the crispy pastry, I could taste the green onions.
The savory taste really whetted my appetite.
The unsweetened soy milk was also quite good,
and together they actually made for a filling meal.

But since everyone's taste is different,
my partner found the same items quite average.
And since we didn't get to eat what we really wanted,
we both felt quite empty after this meal.
So even though the prices were very cheap and affordable,
I doubt we'll visit again together next time. 🥹
