The food was all wonderful, especially the sashimi, straw-grilled dishes, and shabu-shabu, which were exquisite. The rolls with fatty tuna and sea urchin were also impressive, providing a delightful taste.
I went to a wonderfully moving and delicious restaurant in Shinsaibashi 🐟
It's called "TotoToto," and it's located a little deeper inside a building from Shinsaibashi Station 🚃
For drinks, I had a lovely mikan sake 🍊, jasmine tea, and even some sake 🍶, which was a collaboration with United Arrows 🍶. It was super easy to drink and delicious 🍶. The purple Yata 🟣 was quite a high-end sake that I could enjoy even though I'm not good with alcohol ✨.
For the appetizers:
Marinated salmon 🐟 - it was rich yet refreshing and delicious ✨.
Firefly squid with vinegar miso 🦑 - the squid was plump and matched well with the vinegar miso 🦑.
Tomato stewed in wine 🍅 - it was light and delicious 🍅.
Loquat with white miso ✨ - the loquat was sweet and perfect with the white miso, it was delicious ✨.
Eggplant and somen jelly 🍆 - the eggplant was sweet, and both the somen and jelly were plump and delicious 🍆.
For the sashimi platter 🐟:
We had giant squid 🦑 topped with sea urchin and caviar; the squid was sweet, and the combination of sea urchin and caviar was the best 🥰.
Shinshu salmon 🐟 - it was rich and melted in the mouth 🐟.
Spanish mackerel 🐟 - it was grilled, fragrant, and delicious 🐟.
Amberjack 🐟 - the meat was thick and incredibly tasty 🐟.
Bluefin tuna 🐟 - medium fatty tuna was melt-in-your-mouth delicious ✨.
Parboiled conger eel 🐟 - served with ume paste and was extremely delicious 🐟.
Sweet shrimp 🦐 - it also had the shrimp roe, which was sweet and tasty 🥰.
For the straw grilling 🔥:
We could see the grilling process 🔥. Since it was already flavored, we tried it as is, and then added mustard for a flavor change 🔥.
Shinshu salmon straw grill 🔥 - the flavor from the straw was great and rich and delicious 🔥.
Amberjack straw grill 🔥 - one slice was quite large, fragrant, and rich and delicious 🔥.
Water eggplant 🍆 - I had it with ginger soy sauce 🫚. The eggplant was sweet and very delicious 🍆.
For the conger eel shabu-shabu 🐟: Right in front of us, they filleted the conger eel 🐟. We dipped it into broth with onions and shabu-shabu’d it 🧅. The broth was incredibly delicious, and shabu-shabu’ing the large conger eel was absolutely perfect 🥰. The onions were sweet and tasty as well 🧅.
Grilled eel and egg on a hot plate 🥚 - I got to see the cooking process too 🔥. The fluffy eggs with plenty of butter paired with rich eel were super creamy and delicious 🥰.
TotoToto roll - a sushi roll packed with toro and sea urchin 🥰. They made it right in front of us, and it was breathtaking 🥰. It was overflowing with sea urchin and toro 🩷. I couldn't believe how heavenly the combination of toro and sea urchin was; it was incredibly delicious 🥰.
All the dishes were wonderfully exquisite and delicious; I was truly impressed 😭😭😭.
They even had delicious sake suitable for someone like me who isn't good with alcohol, making it a truly amazing place ✨.
I’m thrilled to have discovered such a wonderful restaurant, and I will definitely go back‼️
