The clay pot dish is delicious and suitable for those who prefer milder flavors; the duck dry noodles taste better when paired with the broth from the clay pot fish head.
This restaurant has a friendly atmosphere, the wait time is not long, and it is suitable for locals to take their meals home.
The service is full of warmth, and the separation of takeout and dine-in queues enhances convenience.
Location: East District, Chiayi City
When everyone thinks of Chiayi, the first thing that comes to mind is definitely Lin Cong Ming Claypot Fish Head. However, my friend who has been living in Chiayi for a long time recommended this place, which is said to be from the same school of thought as the claypot fish head. He personally prefers this place because it’s not as greasy and you don’t have to wait in line for that long. But now Lin Cong Ming has opened more locations, so there’s actually not much of a line anymore 😂. Since I’ve eaten at Lin Cong Ming quite a few times, I thought it would be nice to try a different place.
🌟 Claypot Dishes
Normally, most people would order claypot fish head to share. But since our group is quite lazy, we didn't want to pick at things and we don’t like fish heads. For me, the key point is the soup base and the overall dish. So this time we ordered three bowls of claypot dishes. I have to say the flavor is also very delicious, indeed not far from Lin Cong Ming. However, I feel the taste is a bit lighter. You can still add soup, which is suitable for those who prefer a milder flavor.
🌟 Duck Meat Dry Noodles
I thought I’d order a noodle dish as the main course for dinner. At first glance at this bowl of noodles, I thought, “Could it be that there’s no sauce underneath?” (Thankfully, there was 😆). The noodles have a very floury texture, not much elasticity, breaking apart easily when bitten. Additionally, since there was no help in stirring, the first bites were completely tasteless noodles. The duck meat portion was also just a little. I personally think mixing this dry noodle with the soup from the claypot fish head would elevate its taste to another level. Without pairing it with the claypot fish head, I would probably rate this noodle very low.
Overall, this place is one where you won't have to wait too long in line. The service is quite friendly. Furthermore, they separate the lines for takeaway and dine-in, which is really suitable for locals to take it home and enjoy with their own things. If you add some of your favorite hot pot ingredients or meats, it would be even more perfect! 😍 If you're in Chiayi, you can try out different styles of claypot fish head.
