The taste of the dishes is average, especially the shrimp paste cabbage and the seafood hot and sour soup, which have relatively few ingredients. The flavor of the lime pork belly is special, and the texture of the taro sago dessert is quite good; it would be even better if the doneness of the taro could be improved. The spicy chicken leg rice is generous in portion, with large pieces of chicken and a unique sauce. The Thai milk tea tastes close to what you would find in Thailand.
The restaurant environment is clean, but there are not many seats. The overall atmosphere is average, without any special decorations or features.
The staff provides self-service water, and plain rice requires an additional charge. Overall, the service efficiency is acceptable, but it lacks friendliness.
During a busy weekday lunch, the bento options offered by this restaurant are:
🍱 Spicy Pepper Chicken Thigh Rice $110
The Spicy Pepper Chicken Thigh Rice is generous in portion, with large pieces of chicken. It is freshly fried, requiring about 10 minutes of wait time. The sauce includes minced ginger, giving it a slightly unique flavor that differs from traditional spicy pepper chicken sauce, which may vary depending on personal taste. Unfortunately, the side dishes are mediocre and taste rather bland.
🥤 Thai Milk Tea $60
Delicious Thai milk tea, very similar to what you would find in Thailand.
I originally wanted to eat at another restaurant, but I stopped by this one without waiting. The restaurant is quite clean and there are not many seats. You can pick up the utensils and rice by yourself. You have to pay for the rice. Remember to check it on the menu. It costs NT$ per person. $20.
About the meal
Cabbage with shrimp paste, NT$120. The shrimp paste tastes good and the cabbage is fresh and crispy.
Hot and sour seafood soup, NT$130. The hot and sour taste is very strong. There are not many ingredients. There is only one shrimp, a small amount of fish and vegetables.
Lemon Fried Steak, NT$160. The outer skin is fried on the hard side and the sauce is heavy on the sweet side. The meaty flavor only comes after you bite into it.
There is no need to queue during meal time, and the overall environment is ordinary.
Rice is $20 per person and you can eat all you want. But it tastes quite ordinary and doesn't feel like Thai rice.
Water is provided in the store, you can use it yourself.
I had high expectations for the shrimp paste cabbage, but it tasted a bit ordinary and didn't feel delicious, because this dish is usually cooked to taste.
The seafood hot and sour soup didn't have too many ingredients, except for the mushrooms. I felt the seafood ingredients were a bit on the low side, maybe because I ordered a smaller bowl.
The lemon pork belly steak tastes good sour and sweet, goes well with rice, and has a very special taste. It is probably one of the better dishes I ordered today.
For dessert, I ordered taro and sago. The taro was quite generous and the overall taste was pretty good. If anything, the taro could have been cooked a little more.
