Went to a Mexican restaurant in downtown Vancouver for a dinner with friends.
To be honest, I couldn't understand the dishes on the menu at all.
Fortunately, a Mexican friend recommended it
Tacos: This should be called Mexican burrito in Chinese, right? You can choose two different flavors in one set meal. I chose "tinga de polla" and "carne asade" respectively.
In the vernacular, it tastes like chicken and beef, with many of their unique spices and tomatoes added.
In terms of taste: To put it simply... it’s the feeling of eating our moist pancake skin + pork meat wrapped together in one bite (I hope Mexicans won’t hit me when they see it), but it’s really similar!
It tastes good, with an indescribable spiciness, but not very spicy, somewhere between seven-spice noodles?
Drink: Horchata
This is also recommended by Mexicans. The ingredients are a mixture of rice + cinnamon + sugar. It is a bit sweet, but it is not the same as the rice milk I am familiar with, like a thinner rice milk?
Conclusion: I think I can try it, but I really need to study the menu first before trying a Mexican restaurant. I heard from friends that this restaurant is very authentic, but it is really a bunch of Mexican food that I have never seen in Taiwan, so I don’t know how to order it.
