The prices for the dishes are moderate, and the portions are on the smaller side. The sashimi is frozen, and the assorted sushi and stir-fried cabbage taste average. I liked the asparagus salad and stir-fried udon, but I was disappointed with the portion sizes of the fish roe salad and shrimp salad.
This is an old shop located in the Yancheng District, featuring the atmosphere of a traditional snack shop, and there are cats in the store to accompany diners, which makes for a pleasant experience.
Yancheng District’s old shop is very popular online. They offer simple Taiwanese-style Japanese cuisine at moderate prices.
Under my table, there’s a cat sleeping, and having a cat as company while dining makes me happy. 🥰
We ordered:
Assorted sushi $35
$70 x 6 = $420
Sashimi
Asparagus salad
Shrimp salad
Fish roe salad
Jellyfish skin
Stir-fried cabbage
Stir-fried udon $60
In total, we spent $519.
I think it’s not cheap, since each plate has very small portions.
As for the taste:
The sashimi is frozen, and it’s not very tasty.
The assorted sushi is average, just regular sushi.
I liked the asparagus salad,
the stir-fried cabbage is also pretty average,
the stir-fried udon is a bit better.
The fish roe salad has barely any roe... very disappointing.
The shrimp salad has just a few shrimp…
Anyway, the portions are all super small.
The shop itself is just an ordinary traditional snack shop, but the business is booming!
Overall, my favorite part was the cat under my table; only it made me happy. 😅
I probably won’t come again next time.
