Thank you, Fooday 🥳 for making me want to try more different foods 🍽
🚩Location 🧭
Located near the intersection of Sede Road and Ding Tai Road in Wufeng District, Taichung City, next to a lottery store.
🪑About the overall atmosphere 🎡
The exterior has no prominent sign, just a sign on the ground that says 'Xiaoyu', but since the menu says 'Xiaoyu', I'll go by the menu! There is a small slope at the entrance, and there are about four tables for dine-in; there is no air conditioning. In the ordering area, there are some bento dishes on display, and the owner speaks with a foreign accent, suggesting there might be Vietnamese cuisine since the menu has Vietnamese dishes! Only cash is accepted, and no receipt is provided.
💰About the pricing 💰
Shrimp fried rice for $80. I was originally going to order a bento box, but since I didn't find the dishes appealing, I opted for the fried rice instead.
🍴About the food ☕
The shrimp is quite small, but there are quite a few, which is nice. After being placed in the bento box, a bit of pepper was sprinkled on top, and overall it is not too salty; the rice grains are distinct. A downside is that it's a bit too oily; by the time I was halfway through, I felt slightly greasy, but the portion is quite filling; there are also some chopped vegetables stir-fried with it.
🤨Conclusion ♥
I passed by this place thinking no one was coming to check it out, but after finishing the bento box, the bottom was really greasy. Next time, I might not order the fried rice again; if I do order, I’ll try a bento box.
