[Taichung West District] Xumu Mu Cafe

# Once a Store
I saw this place introduced online a long time ago. I was attracted by the large brunch plates at that time. The cafe has a wall that creates a beautiful sunset light effect. I didn’t expect that the actual place would be very different from my imagination...

Located in the basement of the Green Hotel, you have to walk down the stairs from the lobby. You could say there isn’t much decor... only two walls are relatively nice. The air conditioning doesn’t reach the seats deeper inside, and on the day we visited, the staff had to provide fans; otherwise, it would have been really uncomfortable for dining. There were also occasionally small bugs flying around, and I was busy trying to swat them.

Utensils, water, and toilet paper are self-serve (the cups for water are very small... filling them up is a hassle). Dining in a group of four, we all agreed that, for this price point, the environment and food were inadequate ❌. Additionally, the nearby parking lot fills up very easily! There are many more delicious and comfortable dining options in Taichung. Personally, I think it’s not worth worrying about parking just to eat here.

◽ ZURICH Cheese Pork Chop Big Breakfast $895
＞ I chose the cheese pork chop because I saw reviews saying the steak has sinew and the fried chicken isn't good. I personally thought the frying was decent, but it was very thin, and the cheese wasn’t stuffed inside; it was provided as a dipping sauce.
＞ It came with a sunny-side-up egg, a yogurt cup, cold smoked salmon, fruit, and mixed greens.
＞ I don’t know why the sweet potato turned into pumpkin and zucchini.
＞ The potato fritters were not good... they lacked crispiness and were like radish cakes.
＞ The avocado sauce was super sour!!! It felt like it had a lemon juice overdose! I’ve never had such a peculiar avocado sauce before.
＞ The corn was halved and still needed to be bitten into, and it had no sweetness.
＞ The egg salad mini burger was just filler.
＞ It looked abundant and plentiful, but didn’t provide much satisfaction＠＠.

◽ Shaoxing Dongpo Pork Mini Burger $340 (ordered by a friend)
＞ A combination of Western and Chinese styles, but the flavors didn’t match.
＞ The fries served with it were good.

◽ Slow-Cooked Beef Ribs Potato Fritters $340 (ordered by a friend)
＞ Very ordinary; it was like eating stewed beef brisket.
＞ The potato fritters were not good... they lacked crispiness and were like radish cakes.

◽ Fruit Tea $125 (ordered by a friend)
＞ It had fruit slices, but kept dripping juice, and there were no coasters.

◽ Red Tea Latte $95 (ordered by a friend)
