Reviewer on the braces: The restroom is outside the restaurant, but there are quite a few sinks, so it's not too bad.
I've eaten at this restaurant a few times, but those were at another branch. This time we ordered the chef's recommendations for three people, and almost every dish had two options. We chose the following items:
White rice (unlimited refills): Taichung No. 194 rice, black and white dual diamonds, healthy red quinoa
3.5 cups of chicken
Sugarcane shrimp (3 pieces)
Super Mapo tofu
Thick fried pickled vegetable and egg
Grandma's braised pork
Xiangxi cured meat and cabbage
Snow-covered pineapple oolong tea (light ice)
Sugarcane four-season green tea (light ice)
The total cost was $2462 (including a 10% service charge).
Every dish was quite rice-worthy, especially Grandma's braised pork, which was delicious with sauce over rice; I could eat five bowls and still want more. The Mapo tofu was a bit spicy but very stimulating. The sugarcane shrimp had a crispy exterior with a sweet and sour dipping sauce, but the sugarcane itself was hard to bite into. This place is quite good for gatherings, as they offer set menus for larger groups.
