Located near Jiantan MRT Station, "Yonghe Chinese and Western Soy Milk" is a small shop specializing in affordable traditional breakfasts. This visit was overall satisfying, and I personally rate it four stars. The pan-fried egg and radish cake performed excellently: crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the egg fragrance blending perfectly with the radish cake—this was the most recommended item of the visit. The pan-fried dumplings had thin, crispy skins and were filled with generous, juicy fillings, making them worth trying as well. The egg pancake was standard; the pancake skin had a hint of crispiness paired with refreshing lettuce filling that was not too greasy. In comparison, the pork-filled pancake was somewhat ordinary, with a bland filling and slightly thick outer skin. As for the drinks, the soy milk and rice milk were common, neither outstanding nor subpar.
During this visit, I was fortunate not to encounter a crowd, allowing for a leisurely breakfast, which significantly enhanced the dining experience. After enjoying breakfast, it's just the right time to hike up Jiantan Mountain. Overall, this is a local breakfast shop that would make you want to return, especially suitable for those who enjoy traditional Taiwanese breakfasts.
