🍜 You can enjoy freshly cooked hot pot at the highway rest stop!
Whenever I get the chance to drive on the highway in Japan, I always want to stop by the rest areas. Mainly because the souvenirs are really great to buy, and the food isn't too bad either.
At this rest area’s cafeteria, they have a proper division between the breakfast menu and the regular menu, offering set meals, soba noodles, udon noodles, and more. You can choose between white rice or barley rice.
The ordering method is through a ticket machine, with self-service for tea. Generally, you can solve your meal for under 1000 yen, and the taste is quite similar to that of average small set meal restaurants outside. I highly recommend it for those who are on a long trip and don't have time to eat!
