The hot pot restaurant under Wang Pin is located on the 4th floor of Crescent Square, and parking is convenient. On Saturday nights, there is about a 30-minute wait for seating, and the dining time is 100 minutes.
First, you choose the soup base. My friend chose the flavorful beef bone broth, which was alright, while I opted for the spicy hot and numbing soup. It has their adorable signature bear that can melt into the broth, and they also provide some spicy ingredients for you to adjust the spiciness to your liking. I usually go for a little spicy, and adding half of the spicy ingredients was just right; any more might have been too spicy.
For the meat, we chose marbled beef and pork belly. Although the meat waterfall at the table next to us looked impressive, two people really couldn't finish all that, and since it was a birthday month, they even gave us an extra meat platter, which was enough for me.
Besides the meat, there were also vegetable bars, Japanese-style rice, noodles, ice cream, and drinks available for self-service. I found their selection of vegetables to be decent, and I didn't encounter any issues with empty dishes not being refilled. In addition to regular white rice, there was also truffle cream wild mushroom rice to choose from, which I really liked. There were also about 4 or 5 types of noodles available. I wasn't too interested in the desserts and only had a bit of ice cream, which was alright.
Basically, I don't think anyone would leave here with a slightly empty stomach. They even offer seafood paste for filling out a questionnaire, and I really got super full. Plus, you can choose your favorite items and the quantities for the side dishes, which I think is great; it avoids waste and allows you to enjoy your preferred food. The self-service counter was also quite clean, and the restaurant environment was well-maintained with acceptable service attitudes from the staff.
