WULI ISLAND LAB

Located near the Giant City in Hsinchu,
a tavern that is a 10-minute walk away,
open from midday,
so you can start drinking at lunchtime 🍻.
Food is served until 20:00,
and drinks until a bit later.
You can also come for dinner first and then start drinking.

Claimed to be the darkest tavern in Hsinchu,
I was expecting dim lighting or something similar,
but upon entering, I found it quite bright.
The decor is mainly in black,
which was a bit disappointing XD.

It has two floors with about 40 seats.
Completely full on Saturday night at 7 PM.
If you plan to come, it's better to make a reservation~
The tables and seating are very spacious (๑•̀ᄇ•́)و ✧.
You can order a lot without worrying about not having enough table space,
and there's some distance from the next table,
so you won't disturb each other.
A small downside is that on the first floor,
there is a table directly facing the door,
which can lead to awkward eye contact with those who enter.

They have a physical menu
and a QR code for ordering and checking out.

Charcoal Grilled Hamburger Steak (Beef) $200
I saw on Instagram that in November there was a half-price burger steak promotion.
When I went in early December, it was still available ٩۹(๑•̀ω•́ ๑)۶.
The burger steak has two pieces of meat,
it is a bit hard and somewhat dry,
but the seasoning is pretty good.
You should definitely try it when it's on promo.

Brandy Stir-Fried Clams Pasta $360
The plate is quite large and there are many plump clams.
It's mildly spicy,
with a slightly noticeable alcohol flavor.
The noodles are a bit hard,
and the portion is just enough to finish.

Creamy Miso Matsusaka Pork Risotto $400
Very fragrant, but overall the seasoning is a bit sweet.
It becomes a bit rich towards the end,
the risotto has a nice bite to the rice,
it’s good risotto 👍.
The Matsusaka pork is quite ample,
with a crispy exterior and chewy meat.
The portion is a bit large (it could also be because it feels rich).

Island Fresh Milk Tea $160
The cup looks really big,
and it tastes quite large too.
There’s milk foam on top,
but the syrup at the bottom wasn't stirred up,
the first sip was super sweet XD.
The milk tea has a nice aroma with a good balance of tea and milk.

Today’s meal was quite impressive,
especially the clam pasta and fresh milk tea.
There was no break in between,
so it's a good place to visit as a café in the afternoon.
It's definitely a place I would return to (๑•̀ᄇ•́)و ✧.
