[North/ Hsinchu/ Taichung] Shizuoka Katsumasa Japanese Pork Cutlet
This is a Japanese pork cutlet restaurant I often revisit. I highly recommend the loin pork set meal; it has generous portions and the meat is tender and juicy. The meal set includes “rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage,” all of which come with refill options.
The shredded cabbage is soaked in cold water beforehand, which keeps the raw vegetable from losing moisture and makes it very pleasant to eat.
I only accept Katsumasa’s miso soup 🫡. It is made with fresh ingredients; you can choose the version with pork. The refill soup is also loaded with ingredients, showing great sincerity~
In addition to white rice, they also offer barley rice. My favorite combination is barley rice with yam paste (the yam paste cannot be refilled).
Previously, when I visited the Banqiao Mega City branch, I enjoyed some delicious sweet pickled black beans and pickled radish. However, this time at the Dazhi Miramar branch, I didn’t see these two snacks. I’m not sure if they are no longer offered or if they were just not available at this location?

✨ Personal Recommendation
◽ Loin Pork Cutlet Set (Medium)✨ $380
> If you want tender meat at a reasonable price, you have to order this!
◽ Herb-Crusted Thick Cut Pork Loin Set (240g) $460
> This really is an extra thick pork cutlet, but it’s a bit firmer and lacks tenderness.
◽ Katsumasa Signature Set✨ $470
> This includes fried shrimp and loin pork, and the fried shrimp is quite large! This set also comes with a drink and dessert; I highly recommend the matcha ice cream! So delicious 🤤
