咖啡一派 the coffee folks

To pass the time, I walked into a small coffee shop that is quite suitable for chatting and spending time slowly 🏝️. However, I personally wouldn't visit specifically. The main reason being: it's too ordinary.

The entrance of the coffee shop is small, with a bar and a small set of tables and chairs on the first floor. The second floor has a more spacious area with simple tables and chairs.

The space feels empty, but in reality, it's not large. I also don't feel a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes me want to linger, possibly because of the limited space. There's also a 90-minute dining time limit at this shop.

Seeing the menu, I almost wanted to leave: "Too few choices & too difficult to choose 😥."

Originally planning to try some pure coffee, I saw many options with milk; originally wanting to have some light savory snacks, I saw many options that could be considered meal-sized savory items.

Perhaps because nothing quite resonated with me, I didn't have much of an impression of this coffee shop as a result.

It's okay as a resting place, but if you want to seriously enjoy various coffees, have a rich brunch, or, like me, kill time and have some savory snacks, I wouldn't really recommend it.

The meal this time: Black coffee $110 + Kaya toast $90
Kaya toast My own impression is that it tastes like sweet buttery toasted bread. The proprietor mentioned it is a Malaysian style. I'm not quite sure if the owner is a foreigner (he seems to have a bit of an accent when speaking Chinese). The owner did provide a brief introduction about this toast, but I couldn't quite understand his explanation...
Black Coffee: It turns pure black after settling for a bit. I rarely encounter a café where there's only one option for black coffee 🫣. With the different roasts like medium/dark/light, or bitterness and sourness, I can't choose for myself (feeling troubled). This cup of coffee tastes a bit sour and bitter. It makes my heart palpitate when I drink it, and personally, I don't like it. Still, I forced myself to finish it.
Here's a close-up of the toasted bread, with nothing else added inside.
There's cream, so it doesn't taste too dry, but it doesn't feel novel or worth $90.
The small cards in the store, the owner said they are free, similar to small gifts, and sometimes customers take them to stick somewhere.
In-store Environment The store's color scheme leans towards wood, beige, and white, which are colors I like, but the space didn't make me feel cozy; it somewhat felt like a small room.
