🚩 McDonald's Breakfast: Innovation and Care Combined in a Chain Breakfast
Today, I came to Zhongshan Junior High School Station for breakfast. There are a lot of breakfast shops in the nearby alleys. Although I usually choose independent shops, I took a long time to decide on McDonald's today, and as soon as I walked in, it felt right. The shop isn't very large, with about 25 seats. Since it's already working hours, there aren't many customers. The decor is calm and comfortable, with soft lighting playing quiet music, making it feel more like a café than a breakfast shop.
After taking a seat, I had a large menu to look at, featuring meals recommended by popular YouTuber nutritionists. From Monday to Friday, there are 5 different combinations. Although today isn’t Monday, I chose the Monday combo. I scanned the QR code on the table to order and pay, and I could use cash or LinePay; no invoices were needed. After waiting a bit, my meal was served.
The Monday combo includes the Original Chunk Chicken Cheese Burger for $70 and Jin Xuan Baozhong Tea for $35.
The Original Chunk Chicken Cheese Burger: It uses the same bread as McDonald's McMuffin, filled with a slice of cheese and two thick slices of chicken breast. The chicken breast is tender and not dry, lightly seasoned, and tastes pretty good; it would be perfect if it included some lettuce.
Jin Xuan Baozhong Tea: This shop only offers hot drinks, not cold brew. After serving, I needed to wait 5 minutes for the tea leaves to steep. There wasn’t any added sugar, and it tasted like an average teabag; the flavor isn’t very strong but isn’t the cheapest either, which is acceptable for the price.
I used to think that chain breakfast shops only control quality to some extent, have higher prices, and offer a limited selection of traditional items that don’t change much. However, after seeing the menu at McDonald’s today, I feel that the operators aim to provide healthier and more balanced meals, and the choice of ingredients is continually improving, which I think is great. I give McDonald’s a respect 👍🏻.
