The Great Bandit Chen Tea Drink is located in the Dadaocheng area, and its overall visual appeal indeed easily attracts the attention of passersby. However, the performance of the drink itself falls significantly short of expectations.

This time, I ordered the "Buckwheat + Pearls."
Buckwheat tea should present a refreshing flavor with roasted notes, but the buckwheat aroma in this cup is quite weak. Instead, a somewhat unappealing sourness emerges upon tasting, which is inconsistent with the smooth quality that buckwheat tea is supposed to have. This sourness is neither from fruit acids nor fermentation; rather, it is a confusing and hard-to-place flavor that directly impacts the overall drinking experience.

The performance of the pearls is even more noticeably disappointing. Their texture is too soft and mushy, with almost no elasticity or chewiness, definitely not achieving a "Q" texture. The pearls themselves also lack the aroma of brown sugar or starch, leaving only a bland presence that does not enhance the tea but rather adds to the chaotic texture.

Overall, the drink feels unbalanced, with the tea and ingredients failing to form a good structure, resulting in a muddled flavor. Whether it’s the quality of the tea base, the texture of the pearls, or the overall harmony, none meet the basic standards commonly found in today’s hand-shaken drinks.

In summary, while the branding and location of Great Bandit Chen Tea Drink are attractive, there is still significant room for improvement in the drink itself. This "Buckwheat + Pearls" not only fails to showcase the characteristics of buckwheat, but the pearls also do not provide the necessary textural support, leading to a disappointing overall experience. If improvements can be made in the stability of the tea base and the quality of the ingredients in the future, perhaps they can truly justify their location and price point.
