Dixon’s Malaysian food diary!
This time we came to the famous Huayang Tea Restaurant
It is also a must-try tea restaurant for many tourists.
Recommendations for Johor Bahru, Malaysia on the Internet
This is also a must-try tea restaurant

When I usually pass by, whether it is a weekday or a holiday
Usually you have to queue outside before entering.
The restaurant is always full of guests
Especially during holidays
You can also see many people queuing outside

And Malaysian tea restaurants and coffee shops
In fact, it can be imagined as a simple restaurant in Taiwan.
It’s not surprising that everything is sold there.
The menu is open and there are various types of food.

All kinds of food including Chinese or Malaysian authentic food can be seen here.

So there are quite a few choices
Whether you want to have noodles or a meal or authentic kuey teow
You can find it in tea restaurants

So why is this room so special?
This tea restaurant not only sells ordinary meals
It seems that what he is famous for also includes his coffee
And egg tart

The coffee section even offers a variety of brewing bags
It is also a souvenir that many tourists will take back when they come here.

In addition, the souvenirs sold here also include pineapple cakes.
I personally bought two kinds of pineapple cakes here.
The pineapple cake here is different from that in Taiwan.

He is a small package, small and round
There is also a cheese special flavor version

But I personally think that if you want to eat the taste of pineapple alone,
Taiwan’s pineapple cake is more delicious and authentic.

Well, since we are all here
Let’s see what’s so great about his tea restaurant!

The way to order here is to fill in the meal number according to the menu.
So it’s quite convenient.
As long as you can find the meal you want
Just fill it in on the order form according to the number.

⭐️Food section
👉Ben Seng Fried Kway Teow
I have never had a good kway teow when I came to Malaysia.
So just click here
Overall, the portion size is not too much.
But the taste is quite enough
Contains a slightly spicy flavor
There are two shrimps inside

Overall, it is above the standard and can be eaten.
It can be regarded as one of the authentic foods here.

👉Ice Fire Pineapple Bread
Another great thing about this tea restaurant
There are many types of bread-related meals

I saw the ice and fire pineapple
Just click on it

But I have to say that this Ice and Fire Pineapple personally feels pretty good.
He will serve cheese with ice and a dipping sauce called fire
When you wrap these two things in the middle of a pineapple

Take a bite slowly
Overall, I think the taste is pretty great
It also feels like ice and fire
Pineapple bread itself is nothing special
But these three things together taste great!

👉Fried chicken legs
Because I’m afraid I won’t eat enough
So I ordered another fried chicken to try.
Basically nothing special
Just a fried chicken with plenty of flavor

But when it comes to food
Personally, I think it tastes better than many restaurants here.
Although not very amazing
But it’s just above average
At least every dish should be cooked well enough and not too bad.

But it's a pity that the main course portion is probably a bit small.
So if you are worried about not eating enough, you may want to order more at the beginning!

⭐️Drink section
The drink I ordered today is grass jelly soy milk
This combination of grass jelly and soy milk is rarely seen in Taiwan
But it actually tastes surprisingly good when you drink it.

It has the coolness of grass jelly and the slight sweetness of soy milk
It also creates a new flavor when paired together🤣🤣🤣

So this drink actually surprises me.
I also think he tastes good.
I recommend everyone to give it a try
Especially the soy milk here in Malaysia and the soy milk in Taiwan
Probably the difference is sweet soy milk, but without milk

⭐️Atmosphere part
The furnishings here actually have the feel of a noisy tea restaurant.
Although the overall lighting is very bright
But if you look around, it's full of people.
There are so many tables
But there are so many people
There will be a noisy feeling throughout

You can also think of it as an alternative Taiwanese hot stir-fry restaurant.
It's just a simple meal.

⭐️Service section
Basically no special services
They are just responsible for ordering and delivering food for you.
But a small number of shop assistants can also speak Chinese.
So in terms of communication or need to ask about things
There should be no big problem

⭐️Price section
Because actually the portion size of each dish is not too much
So the price may feel a little higher
But it is a famous tea restaurant after all
And also open inside department stores and hypermarkets
I personally think this price is reasonable.

⭐️Location section
It’s rare to see a so-called famous store open in a department store
The transportation and location are very convenient.
In addition, because it is famous
So there were quite a few people lined up outside.

If you want to eat, it is recommended to try it on weekdays
After all, there are really a lot of people lining up on weekends.

⭐️Summary
In terms of a relatively famous tea restaurant
I think the queue time is not too long on weekdays
You'll have to wait outside for about 5 minutes before you can go in.

And the visit rate or return visit rate of this store should be quite high.
After all, he provides a wide variety of meals

Chances are you'll only eat some of them today
Then you may want to try other types of meals

So if anyone lives nearby or lives here
You can come here to eat more times, especially on weekdays
There should be nothing particularly bad about it!

Lian Kee Chicken Rice
ChineseSubang Jaya
The place is a stall located inside the MeiSek Kopitiam. It operates in the evening as the morning and afternoon is for the other stalls. Drinks have to be ordered from the drinks stall via self-service. Parking is awailable but would be hard to find on busy days. I was expecting things to taste better as there were a number of patients dining in. The steam chicken and rice was just ordinary. The beansprouts lacked taste and were not crunchy. However, the redeeming qualities of the place was their wantan and pork balls. The wantan was full of flavourful stuffing and the chillie oil in the soup gave a nice kick to it. The pork balls were very good as well, with a firm springy texture. Price is pretty standard subang prices. Overall, i wont come here unless I am craving chicken rice and am unwilling to go to better places. While i am here, the porkballs and wantan is a must have.

Big Big Wantan-Mee & Rice Damansara Jaya
ChinesePetaling Jaya
Known for its wan tan mee, hence the name, decided to visit the shop. It's been a few years since i have been here and wanted to have it again. Parking is difficult to find on the road, with alot of people double parking. Might be better to park in the atria mall, though please note the parking fees isnt cheap. Had to wait a few minutes, as the lunch crowd was happening. Service was ok. To order, just write your order code on a piece of paper and pass to the staff. Food came relatively quickly but unfortunately the quality was lacking. The portion was big but the quantity of char siew was small. The char siew had the premium look but was tough and no crispy caramel parts. The caramel parts were abit sweet and sticky instead. The noodles was decent and the sauce paired well with it. However, in the past there were pork lards placed along the noodles. The wantans, though packed with filling; just tasted normal. They only had 3 pieces only. The white coffee was terrible. It was very diluted with no flavour at all. The payment option of cash was very dissapointing, especially since almost every other place has atleast a qr paying option. I can imagine this point alone will put off alot of customers. Overall, i wont really come back unless i really really want to eat wan tan mee. Its just slighly above mediocre wan tan mee but definitely not living up to its name.

時時香RICE BAR 宜蘭新月店
ChineseYilan County
This is a chain restaurant that's present in a lot of malls, and generally popular. We were quite late for our lunch (2pm) but was happy to see that this place was still open. The food was very satisfying. The dishes came out all fairly quickly except for the meatball dish. At that point we were pretty much already ready to go at that point, so the only negative side to our experience. That meatball dish was also very good though. I found all of the flavors very familiar and comforting for Chinese food. The omelette with pickled radish especially was nice, the inside was soft and the radish had just the right amount of salt. Service was nice and attentive, though expected since we were the only ones present besides one other party.
