🥩 Kaohsiung Gushan ▫️ Yichang Tiandi Food Street
🥩 A steak at a department store night market that is completely not worth the price
These days in Kaohsiung, heavy rain has been relentless.
To make parking and putting on and taking off rain gear easier,
I decided to look for food at the department store after work.
I didn’t expect to hit a mine when I didn’t check reviews properly.💥
➰ Pork loin steak 𝟭𝟵𝟵
There’s a recommendation symbol from the shop on top.
The mushroom sauce that comes with it was supposed to be a safe choice,
but the sauce was very thin,
with only a slight mushroom flavor apart from the saltiness.🍄🟫
The only redeeming aspect was that the meat was acceptable;
it was not tough to chew and matched the description of being tender.
➰ Upgraded 𝗕 set ➕𝟵𝟵
In this price range, you get a puff pastry soup and chicken nuggets.
The chicken nuggets were just regular frozen ones warmed up,
tasting no different from those at breakfast shops.
The puff pastry soup had a normal puff pastry,
but the soup, like the sauce, was also very thin.
It was semi-transparent with an egg drop-like thickening,
not the usual white creamy soup, which was quite disappointing.
__
Overall, it was acceptable to eat.
However, from ordering to serving, it took only a minute.
The iron plate wasn’t very hot,
and flipping the egg a little didn’t cook it much.🍳
It definitely doesn’t live up to the pun on “sizzling” associated with iron plates.
Given the amount spent and the quality received,
it could be said that it’s even worse than eating steak at a night market.
Even if the department store space is comfortable, I won't return.❌
Lastly, I want to mention that this store is not labeled as Yichang on 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲.
It doesn’t show up as the first result on the search page,
so it takes a bit of digging to find the reviews.🙃
On 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, the location is of course auto-tagged well.
Please ensure the information is correct to avoid mines for everyone!⚡️
